Charlie Louvin’s Battle Rages On / Releases New Videos

Yesterday was the worldwide release for Charlie Louvin’s new album The Battle Rages On, a 12-song tribute to the men and women of the Armed Services. The 4-time Grammy Winner, Country Music Hall of Famer, and member of the Grand Ole Opry for 55 years shows his patriotic side as his own battle rages on with pancreatic cancer.

In conjunction with the release, Charlie has released his first-ever music video, featuring bluegrass legend Del McCoury on the song “Weapon of Prayer.” This is the first ever music video for the 83-year-old, and is accompanied by two others: a message to our troops, and an in-depth interview where he talks about how he got started in music, meeting Johnny Cash, his military service, and how they made the cover to the Louvin Brother’s album Satan Is Real. (see videos below)

UPDATE: Apparently Charlie Louvin’s Press release was wrong, and he has released a video previously called ‘Ira” about his brother. CLICK HERE TO VIEW.

Charlie’s health continues to be an issue, and has forced him to cancel all tour dates except for one in Nashville on December 3rd at Foobar Too. Judd Films is planning to film the concert and use that footage to create a DVD, with all the proceeds going back to Charlie to help pay his mounting medical bills. To cover the production costs, they have set up a Kickstarter account, and are nearly half way to their $3,000 goal but still need your help to get there.

Another way you can help Charlie is by purchasing his new album, which is available in MP3 form for only $5.99 right now through Amazon. Amazon helps run Kickstarter.
