Country Legend Ray Price Released From Hospital (UPDATED)

ray-priceCountry music legend Ray Price is finally being released from the hospital after being admitted on May 9th for severe dehydration.

Ray was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in November of 2012 and began receiving radiation treatment. By February of 2013, the cancer was in remission and Ray was back performing, but a medication Ray was taking for Post Radiation Syndrome gave the country music singer extreme diarrhea, resulting in the loss of too many fluids.

Ray’s physician, Dr. Red Duke upgraded Ray’s condition to “good and improving” on May 14th, but wanted Price to remain in the hospital for evaluation and until his strength improved. Ray spent the next week in the hospital performing routine tests for the follow up on his pancreatic cancer status. “The Doctors are very optimistic as to the outcome,” Ray’s wife Janine told fans. “Ray plans to see everyone at his next scheduled concerts. Please keep us in your thoughts as we go forward this week.”

Family friend Virgie Phillips stated this afternoon that Ray and Janine were on their way home this evening, and would be releasing a statement to fans later tonight.

***(6-14-13) UPDATE – Ray Price has been admitted to the hospital for kidney stones.

So sad to tell you that Ray has been readmitted to hospital.
Test results show that the long term dehydration has caused kidney stones to develop and Ray was in severe pain.
The Doctors have gotten the pain under control and are now deciding on the best way to remove the stones.
We have canceled all of the June concerts and the Rob Battle Artist Agency is rescheduling the dates. We will post the new dates when all have been confirmed.
Ray asked me to thank you all for your love and support and to tell you that your prayers are keeping us both going.
Gratefully, Janie Price
