From A Room: Volume 1
Chris Stapleton’s sophomore album ‘From A Room: Vol. 1’ is the #1 selling record this week in pure album sales across all genres, beating out rapper Logic’s new album ‘Everybody.’ However due to new chart rules that consider streaming data, Stapleton will come in #2 in the major charts.
The biggest adversity to independent music is success. Independent fans score higher grades in so many categories compared to their mainstream and passive listening counterparts, but their one failing is their need for a sense of exclusivity. As soon as something they like becomes popular, it no longer seems to have the same magic.
Late Thursday evening (4-13), the full studio version of the opening track from the new album called “Broken Halos” populated across all major digital distributors of music and is now available for sale or streaming. Stapleton fans finally have a full song to lay their ears on from Stapleton’s upcoming album “From A Room: Volume 1.”
Before launching his own solo career, Chris Stapleton was a revered songwriter and session singer up and down Music Row, and this is evidenced in the history of the song “Either Way.” First appearing on Lee Ann Womack’s critically-acclaimed album Call Me Crazy from 2008, the song is at least 9 years old.
