Thoughts and prayers continue to pour in for Randy Rogers, his wife Chelsea Rogers, and the entire Rogers family after the Texas country star revealed that his recently-born daughter Rumer passed away Tuesday night (6-9) after battling a rare brain condition. A memorial for the newborn is being planned.

Randy Roger’s publicist confirmed the news Wednesday morning.

Rumer Rain Rogers, daughter of Randy and Chelsea Rogers, passed away last night at Seton Memorial Hospital in Austin, Texas. Rumer died of natural causes, in her parents loving arms, just days after her birth. During this time of grieving, the family asks that individuals wishing to offer condolences make a donation to the children’s charity of their choosing.

Rumer Rain Rogers was born just one week ago on Wednesday, June 3rd, weighing 7 lb., 13 oz. Everything appeared to be fine initially. It was the couple’s second child after eloping in March of 2013 and having their first child, River Rose Rogers, later that year.

Randy Rogers has also released a statement of his own about the newborn’s passing.

Good morning. Rumer passed away last night. She died after a week long battle with a very rare condition. She died in our arms and in no pain. She was absolutely beautiful in every way. Her brain however was very sick. I’m sure you all have many questions and we have all the answers the doctors gave us. We can share the story with you. It’s quite an extraordinary one. A memorial will be planned soon. We love you.

The Randy Rogers Band is known as one of the premier acts in the Texas country scene, and the frontman recently released a new traditional country album with long-time friend Wade Bowen called Hold My Beer. Prayers and condolences from across the Red Dirt / Texas country scene and beyond flooded social network Wednesday morning as the news was revealed.
