Tumbleweed Festival Adds to Already Impressive 2017 Lineup
The 2nd Annual Tumbleweed Festival set to transpire on the Missouri River in Sugar Creek, MO on July 28th and 29th, 2017 has just added to their already-impressive lineup.
Tumbleweed Fest already included headliners Jamey Johnson, Cody Jinks, and Whitey Morgan, country legend Billy Joe Shaver, Texas country stalwarts William Clark Green, Jason Eady, and Roger Creager, and up-and-comers Paul Cauthen, Colter Wall, and Ward Davis.
Now they’ve just added Sunny Sweeney, whose just-released album Trophy has country music critics fawning over the Austin-based songwriter, praising it as her best yet. Jaime Wyatt has met a similar fate with her recent 2017 record Felony Blues and just released a new video for her song “Giving Back The Best of Me,” and she has also been added to the lineup card. Courtney Patton, whose husband and common singing partner Jason Eady was already making the trip from Texas, has also been given a performance slot. Mickey Lamantia and Damien Gunn are also on the 2017 Tumbleweed lineup.
And the festival is not done there. Soon they will announce a contest to fill a final after hours performance slot for the fans of emerging Outlaw country artists to vote on and try to get their favorite artist or band in.
The Tumbleweed Festival is also offering free admission to all Veterans, Active Duty Military, and kids under 10. Also camping is available on site, and there will be fishing, guided canoe river trips, and helicopter rides as part of the festivities.
“Tumbleweed creates an unbelievable escape from reality, where everyone is your best friend and relationships are established for life,” says Tumbleweed organizer Doug Bordegon. There isn’t a better place to appreciate life with your friends and family; Tumbleweed is truly a spectacular experience.”

Awesome lineup. Trigg – I am sure you saw it, but Marty Stuart also announced expanded Way Out West tour dates a few weeks ago. He’s playing a 500 person capacity club in Portland that I am going to. Unreal, but should be an amazing show!

Crazy to see Cody Jinks getting top billing (or co-). Just a few years ago he was playing to 40 people in small clubs being dragged around by Whitey.
A few years before that I was headbanging while he was playing. What a world.

You’re in for one hell of a time. Turnpike plays a damn good show. They are extremely tight and cohesive, and seeing the steel guitar player bust out an accordion is a trip.

I’m seeing Turnpike for the first time in Knoxville, TN this weekend (they never tour near me).
Cody Jinks for the first time in my hometown of Pittsburgh in June.
This summer is going to be the best concert season:
Turnpike Troubadours
Old Crow Medicine – Blonde on Blonde
Tom Petty
Bruce Robison
Cody Jinks
Willie Nelson / MMJ – Syracuse
Chris Stapleton
Farm Aid

Spousal unit and I headed west on 70 at the end of July. We just may take a two day detour to Sugar Creek. This is a great line up. Also a chance to see some performers I’ve only heard about. Thanks for the post, Trigger.

Dang. I lived in Kansas City 49 years and there was never anything like this when I lived there.

I post the above last night and am still having fits of jealousy and googling flights to KC.
