Turnpike Troubadours To Embark on Extensive Spring / Summer Tour
From California to Brooklyn, to the deep South and interior West, Oklahoma’s Turnpike Troubadours will be embarking on an extensive U.S. tour starting March 30th in Baton Rouge, and ending in August at the Braun Brothers Reunion in Idaho. 39 dates in all will be encompassed in the tour over the next six months, and will touch parts of the map that Turnpike and other Texas/Red Dirt artists don’t often visit. If you want to get a healthy taste of what Texoma country is all about, this is your opportunity.
The Turnpike Troubadours continue to help set the pace for Texas Country and Red Dirt in the region and beyond. As a younger band with an energetic live show, they draw massive crowds in their home market, while word continues to spread throughout the country. In February the group toured the U.K. for the first time as they try to work farther afield than the traditional Texas Country circuit.
Meanwhile the chatter that Turnpike has been in the studio and could release a new record in 2017 is off the charts. Don’t be surprised if these tour dates lead up to a new record to be released some time this fall or early winter. Though Turnpike is somewhat notorious for letting anticipation build to a fevered pitch in their fervent fan base between releases, songwriter and frontman Evan Felker has perhaps found a new gear. Felker recently got married, and celebrated a birthday on Friday (3-24).
Whether seeing them for the first time, or taking advantage of the opportunity to see them while the venue size and ticket prices are still reasonable, this is a tour worth checking out.

Can’t wait to see them next month in Brooklyn! If they release a new album this year I will lose my mind.

June 9th they will be in Des Moines at Simon Estes Amphitheater.

You should see the line-up for the July 8th date in Peoria, IL. It’s a cluster–Jake Owen, Cole Swindell, Jon Pardi, Cody JInks, Tournpike Troubadours, Kane Brown, Lucero, Cody Canada, and more. Just a weird booking.

July 8 actually has Turnpike Troubadours, Lucero, Cody Canada, Chris Knight, Nikki Lane, and Bri Bagwell so far. You were looking at the other days I guess. It’s the closest TT ever comes to Wisconsin, so I’ll be going for sure.

I just saw the ad that listed all the acts that would be there. Along with pre-order price of $69. They have some great bands there, but the promoters have got to be jack asses.

No, the promoters know what they are doing. The ad you saw is not very well done, I’ll give ya that. $69 covers like 6 different dates, the July 8th show is $28 GA, $35 party pit, $45 VIP. Hell of a lineup for that price.

I’ll agree with it being a hell of a lineup.

Cody Jinks and Whiskey Myers on 9-29 should be a good show. Looks like the other events are littered with mainstream dreck.

Seriously. I know what you mean. Been waiting for them to come to Minneapolis for awhile now.

They’ll also be at Uptown Theatre in KC, MO July 7th. I think Lucero is opening for that show. They played there last year with Old 97’s and American Aquarium and it was probably the best concert I’ve ever been to! Great venue, too.

Yep…I’ve seen them dozens of times, but that Uptown show was epic.

I was at that show as well, and they brought down the house. That’s the only time I’ve seen them, but it was everything I’d hoped for. Was worried after seeing articles about Felker’s excessive drinking, but the band was very tight and professional.

I saw turnpike 3 times last year and they were terrific every time. Really seems like that thing with Felker was just an unfortunate one-off thing.

Hope they come back to Scotland I missed them back in Feb as it clashed with Shovels and Rope that I already had tickets for. Great gig mind you so I’m not moaning too much but I really want to see them live.

The 3rd week in April will be very busy and epic. Cody Jinks in Atlanta on Saturday April 15th and then I will catch a plane to Vegas for a work conference the next Monday. On Friday, April 21th a buddy will pick me up from the airport and we will truck it over to Athens Georgia to see the Turnpike Troubadours that night,
Have seen Jinks twice but haven’t been able to make a Troubadours show. Pretty pumped to see them live.

How is Jinks live? Going to see him in Milwaukee in June.

Great show, and if you like his music, it’s even greater. Very country music on and off the stage. One of the most humble guys on and off the stage too. He offered to shake hands and take pictures outside of the venue when he was hanging out there and smoking a cigarette, and it wasn’t even part of the show. It was candid. I’ll admit though, when I saw him in San Francisco in February, the sound monitor could have been much better for the microphone vocals, but other than that, he’s worth seeing again.

Thankful for the opportunity to catch em at the RiverFest in Port Neches on May 5th, tickets will probably be around 10 bucks and Shinyribs the following night. Not bad for Podunk, Southeast Texas!

I’m gonna catch them in Philly, Silver Spring, Cumberland, and Dewey Beach. I guess I’ll just go to all four shows. Why not?

I’m going to my first Turnpike Troubadours show next month. Of course, I have to travel to Knoxville, TN, because they never play near Pittsburgh (I never go to Philly and Charlottesville, VA was the middle of the week).

How about the show in Cumberland MD? I think that’s about 2-2.5 hours from Pittsburgh. Its them and Old 97s.

I was looking at the Cumberland show, which is a couple of hours from me. TT, Old 97s, and lots of wings for a very reasonable price. Would like to hear reports from others who have been before pulling the trigger.
hoptown, as a central PA resident I have to say I have a certain respect for you. Would rather drive to Knoxville than set foot in Philadelphia, that’s some real Pittsburgh principles.

Caught their gig last year – it’s a can’t miss show. Also Mike and the Moonpies opened for them which made it even more kick ass.

Glad they’re finally coming to Asheville. They’ve been to Raleigh several times in support of American Aquarium but never here. We’re a small market but it sounds like ticket sales have been good for them so far

Great news until I saw there won’t be a night where they rock Portland. Hopefully, they will add a date soon. Marty Stuart and His Fabulous Superlatives will be coming to the Rose City in May though.

4/9 – Nikki Lane in Nashville
4/14 – Cody Jinks in Atlanta (should have gone both nights)
4/21 – Turnpike Troubadours in Athens
4/22 – Jason Isbell in Knoxville
4/27 – Tom Petty in Atlanta
Upcoming – two more Isbell shows (Miami and Nashville), two Sturgill shows (Atlanta and Red Rocks), Brandy Clark, Marty Stuart and I’m sure more dates to be added. We’re already trying to figure out if there’s another Troubadours show we can get to.
Golden freaking age of live music….
