From California to Brooklyn, to the deep South and interior West, Oklahoma’s Turnpike Troubadours will be embarking on an extensive U.S. tour starting March 30th in Baton Rouge, and ending in August at the Braun Brothers Reunion in Idaho. 39 dates in all will be encompassed in the tour over the next six months, and will touch parts of the map that Turnpike and other Texas/Red Dirt artists don’t often visit. If you want to get a healthy taste of what Texoma country is all about, this is your opportunity.

The Turnpike Troubadours continue to help set the pace for Texas Country and Red Dirt in the region and beyond. As a younger band with an energetic live show, they draw massive crowds in their home market, while word continues to spread throughout the country. In February the group toured the U.K. for the first time as they try to work farther afield than the traditional Texas Country circuit.

Meanwhile the chatter that Turnpike has been in the studio and could release a new record in 2017 is off the charts. Don’t be surprised if these tour dates lead up to a new record to be released some time this fall or early winter. Though Turnpike is somewhat notorious for letting anticipation build to a fevered pitch in their fervent fan base between releases, songwriter and frontman Evan Felker has perhaps found a new gear. Felker recently got married, and celebrated a birthday on Friday (3-24).

Whether seeing them for the first time, or taking advantage of the opportunity to see them while the venue size and ticket prices are still reasonable, this is a tour worth checking out.
