Willie Nelson has canceled the first leg of his upcoming Django and Jimmie tour with Merle Haggard due to an undisclosed medical issue according to a representative for the 82-year-old country legend. “I have no additional details but it is only the first three dates,” says the Nelson representative. “The rest of the tour is on schedule.”

The canceled dates include the Florence Civic Center in Florence, SC on Thursday, October 15th, the Berglund Center Coliseum in Roanoke, VA on October 16th, and the Santander Arena in Reading, PA on October 17th. At the moment, the show in Bloomington, IN on October 21st is still on. The date in Florence has been rescheduled to April 6th, 2016.

“We have just been informed that Willie Nelson has a medical issue and will be rescheduling the first half of his tour dates,” states Nick Hooker, Senior Marketing Manager for SMG Florence Civic Center. “We know this is last-minute and we sincerely apologize for any inconvenience, but our hearts and best wishes go to Willie Nelson and his family during this time of health concern. Get well soon Willie, we can’t wait to see you in April alongside Merle Haggard.”

Because of the advanced age of Willie Nelson, such news always breeds concern. “This is all news to us at the moment and we’re still getting details on Willie’s medical concern,” says Nick Hooker. “We’ve been told this is not life-threatening, but will require several weeks to fully recover.”

More details as they become available.
