49 Winchester Gets Big Opportunities, Drops New Tour Dates

The accolades and opportunities for 49 Winchester continue to pour in, as they’re quickly becoming one of the biggest emerging bands in independent country here in 2022. Riding off the momentum of their recent album Fortune Favors The Bold, the band has just released a slew of new tour dates (see below).

But some gigs just hit different. That will be the case when 49 Winchester opens for the Turnpike Troubadours on July 30th at the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville on July 30th. The sold-out show will be 49 Winchester’s debut on the Mother Church stage—an honor no matter how you come by it. The Vandoliers are opening the first Turnpike Troubadours show on July 29th. 49 Winchester has also been opening dates with Whiskey Myers on their major tour, getting exposure to a whole new fan base as well. Expect these opportunities to translate into a lot more 49 Winchester fans moving forward with the way they deliver live.

Bounding out from Russell County, Virginia—which sits in the crux between Kentucky, Tennessee, West Virginia, and North Carolina—49 Winchester is truly the local band done good. From the unincorporated community of Castlewood (pop. 2000), the nucleus of the band grew up in the same small neighborhood, and have been chasing the crazy dream of becoming rock stars ever since. Lo and behold, they’ve now called their own bluff and done it, being signed to New West Records, playing big festivals, and getting name dropped as one of the hottest bands on the rise in independent country and roots music at the moment, including recently by Luke Combs.

The chemistry of this band, the exuberance and infectiousness of their live performances, and the hometown hero aspect of their story makes you want to egg them on even more. 49 Winchester is fun to root for. But really, it’s the effortlessly soulful voice of frontman and guitarist Isaac Gibson that makes 49 Winchester so much more than just another cool country band.
