Billy Strings, Morgan Wade, Wade Bowen Sign Publishing Deals

In what’s always a promising sign for an artist and often results in extra revenue streams, there has been some big signings recently to publishing deals in the independent country and roots world, with Billy Strings, Wade Bowen, and Morgan Wade all inking new contracts.

The primary benefit to an artist signing a publishing deal is to get their music placed in movies, films, television shows, streaming series, and other venues. The boost in exposure can be important for songwriters, especially ones who aren’t regularly featured on mainstream radio like these three.

Billy Strings recently signed a worldwide publishing administration deal with River House Artists in partnership with Sony Music Publishing. The deal covers both Billy’s current music catalog, and all future efforts. As one of the most dynamic and fastest-rising artists in all of roots music at the moment, the bluegrass improviser is sure to be in-demand for years to come.

After the positive reception for her debut album Reckless, Morgan Wade has signed an exclusive, worldwide publishing deal with Universal Music Publishing Nashville. “Morgan has a rare mix of authenticity and grit, accompanied with a fresh sound and pop sensibility that blew my mind the first time I heard her music,” says Zach Lund, Director A&R, Universal Music Publishing Nashville. “She truly has no ceiling and the UMPG team is beyond grateful for the opportunity to work with her and join the ride.”

And lastly Texas-based performer and songwriter Wade Bowen has signed a worldwide publishing deal with Warner Chappell Music Nashville. The BMI songwriter that is managed by Red Light Management and represented by WME. “So excited to be a part of the Warner Chappell Nashville family and for what’s to come!” said Wade Bown.
