Bobby Bare Postpones Multiple Tour Dates
Numerous upcoming performances by Country Music Hall of Famer and Grand Ole Opry member Bobby Bare are being rescheduled for the fall, but rumors of his demise have been greatly exaggerated. Ticket holders for upcoming performances at Liberty Hall in Tyler, TX on March 6th, and the Hippodrome Theater in Waco, TX March 8th were notified this week that these shows would be canceled due to health concerns. Saving Country Music has also confirmed that the show at the Arlington Music Hall on March 9th will not happen either.
However according to Bobby Bare’s management, the shows will hopefully be rescheduled for the fall. Though Bobby Bare has been under the weather recently and did cancel a couple of appearances in Canada, he is expected to perform on the Outlaw Country Cruise coming up January 30th and 31st, as well as the Florida Strawberry Festival in Plant City on March 10th. Bare is also scheduled to appear at the big Willie Nelson tribute concert in Nashville on January 12th.
According to Bobby Bare’s management, the rescheduled dates in Texas have as much to do with scheduling conflicts as any health concerns. A couple of weeks ago, Bobby Bare posted a video wishing his fans a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year, and assuring everyone, “I’m still around.”
Bobby Bare has enjoyed a resurgence in his career recently. He was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame in 2013, and was reinstated as a member of the Grand Ole Opry in 2018. He’s also enjoyed a resurgence of interest due to the Country Music Hall of Fame’s current major exhibit called Outlaws & Armadillos. Dubbed The Original Outlaw, Bobby Bare fought and won creative control of his music before Waylon and Willie, and is revered throughout the country music community.
