Brandi Carlie just turned in some monster numbers for her new album In These Silent Days released on October 1st. And even though she’s not included on the Billboard Country Albums Chart (while some other less deserving artists are), her showing is good enough to hit #1 on a host of important lists.

In These Silent Days sold a total of 32,204 physical copies and complete downloads its first week, along with receiving a whopping 4.58 million streams on the album’s respective tracks, coming in for a total of 36,254 total units in sales and streaming equivalents. This was good enough for #1 on Billboard’s Folk/Americana chart, as well #1 on the Billboard Rock Albums chart.

Brandi Carlile also hit #2 on the Vinyl Sales Chart, and #3 on the Top Album Sales chart that only considers physical sales. It was kept out of #1 by the delayed issuance of Taylor Swift’s Fearless (Taylor’s Version) in physical form. Carilie’s In These Silent Days also came in at an impressive #11 on the all-genre Billboard 200, which factors in streaming and sales.

This marks Brandi Carlile’s fourth #1 on the Folk/Americana chart, and third #1 on the Billboard Rock Albums chart. If In These Silent Days had charted in country like some other Americana artists have in the past including Jason Isbell and Blackberry Smoke, it would have come in at #2, just behind the juggernaut that is Morgan Wallen’s Dangerous: The Double Album.

Most importantly, it’s a good showing for an album that deserves one. Produced by Dave Cobb and Shooter Jennings, In These Silent Days received a 9 out of 10 review here at Saving Country Music, as well as many other positive reviews. Using her time off during the pandemic to compose a memoir allowed Carlile to reflect back on the gifts in her life. In These Silent Days is a strikingly personal work by Carlile, while each track imparts some wisdom that makes it resonate deeper that just Carlile’s personal universe.
