Brit Taylor Honored in Kentucky, Sets Grand Ole Opry Debut
There’s just about nothing bigger for a girl from Kentucky than being recognized by the Bluegrass State’s Governor and playing the Grand Ole Opry. Brit Taylor is about to experience both in as many weeks, and it’s well deserved after earning worthy praise for her recent album Kentucky Blue.
“It has been a wild whirlwind of a month It is all so exciting,” says Brit. “Touring and sharing my music with fans has been my dream, and now there have been two great big bucket list items in one month—having a top 20 release and an invite to the Grand Ole Opry. I am just so thankful and so blessed.”
Brit Taylor has done Kentucky right, and so Kentucky returned the favor when the Kentucky House of Representatives presented her an Official Citation of Achievement at the State Capital. Representative John Banton applauded Brit as a “phenomenal young performer for her many outstanding accomplishments” and her “extraordinary achievement within the performing arts.”
Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear also congratulated Brit Taylor in a letter saying, “As a native Kentuckian, born in the shadow of the Country Music Highway, you learned to follow your dreams. Instead of quitting when things became difficult, you persevered. These life lessons will carry you far in your career.”
Brit Taylor was born along US Route 23 in Kentucky that’s affectionately called the Country Music Highway. It has been a cradle for country talent for going on a century, from legends like Ricky Skaggs, Dwight Yoakam, and Keith Whitley, to the new crop of country revolutionaries like Tyler Childers and Sturgill Simpson, and of course the great Loretta Lynn.
“I’ve lived in Nashville for almost as long as I lived in my home state of Kentucky,” says Taylor. “But anytime anyone ask me where I’m from my answer is always and will always be East Kentucky. I’m so honored to receive this citation from the place who made me me.”
Brit Taylor’s Kentucky Blue was produced by Sturgill Simpson, and includes ten songs all co-written by Taylor. She will be making her Grand Ole Opry debut on Wednesday, March 22nd. Folks can listen in live via wsmradio.com.

Could not be happier for Brit. Caught the very first show of her tour outside of Nashville and it was fantastic. She had only sold 5 presale tickets but fortunately another 50 or so showed up at the door. I’m certain she would have played just has passionately if it were only 5 in the room. Congrats on this well-deserved honor.

Have only listened to Kentucky Blue a couple times, and love it.
Sturgill did as good a job producing this as Brit did, singing it.
They have a total winner here.

I know sometimes people get sick of seeing me post, hell even I get tired of myself posting too much….I’ll try and do better…. or less Trig but I couldn’t let this one go. I love the album so much and I’m ecstatic things are going great for Brit. She’s the real deal and hopefully be around a long time. Can’t wait for a show here.
