Charley Crockett to Play with Miranda Lambert at NASCAR Street Race

Wow, this is a pretty big national opportunity for Charley Crockett, and possibly the biggest of his career so far. Though late night TV performances are good for bragging rights and impressing mom, the truth is they just don’t move the needle like they once did when Johnny Carson was still around.

But NASCAR’s first-of-its-kind street racing event in its 75 years history will definitely draw some national attention, and Charley Crockett will be right there in the mix.

On July 1st and 2nd, NASCAR Cup Series will be holding their “Chicago Street Race” as part of the greater July 4th weekend, and have booked some major acts to play full sets as part of the festivities, including Miranda Lambert, The Black Crowes, The Chainsmokers, and yes, little ol’ Charley Crockett.

“We are proud to welcome superstars The Chainsmokers, Miranda Lambert, The Black Crowes, and Charley Crockett as we reimagine the NASCAR experience in the heart of downtown Chicago over Fourth of July weekend,” NASCAR says.

You see that? They called Charley Crockett a superstar. Usually these types of performance slots are reserved for mainstream pop country douchebags at NASCAR events.

The unprecedented race will consist of a 12-turn, 2.2 mile track snaking through the streets and past landmarks in downtown Chicago. Saturday July 1st will be the Xfinity series race, with The Black Crowes playing before qualifying and The Chainsmokers playing afterwards. Then Sunday July 2nd is the NASCAR race, with Charley Crockett playing an opening set ahead of a full Miranda Lambert concert before the race.

To see the concert in person, you need a ticket to the race. But even if you can’t be there, this is a cool event that will draw lots of attention, and put Charley Crockett’s name and music in front of a lot of folks. Stay tuned for broadcast info.

Charley Crockett recently graduated from clubs to theaters, and continues to gain ground as one of the hardest working guys in country music. Expect to see more opportunities like this for Crockett as the world continues to catch on.
