Chris Stapleton Announces Initial 2020 Tour Dates & Openers

Chris Stapleton has just announced a slew of new tour dates on the 2020 leg of his ongoing All-American Road Show Tour, along with the openers for each date. Though this isn’t the big dump of dates we’re used to seeing from Stapleton, presales and tickets for these select dates are coming up shortly, so folks should be aware. More tour dates for 2020 may be announced in the future.

We already knew about Stapleton helping to open the new Globe Life Park baseball stadium in Arlington, Texas on March 14th with Jamey Johnson, Willie Nelson, and Yola, as well as a benefit concert in Lexington, Kentucky on April 25th with Willie, Yola, and Sheryl Crow. Now we have numerous other dates built around these events, with Yola and The Marcus King Band emerging as potentially the primary opening acts for the 2020 run.

Yola is the new queen of country soul, and just picked up four Grammy nominations, including one for all-genre Best New Artist. The Marcus King Band has also been setting crowds on fire, and is releasing a new album called El Dorado on January 17th. They both blend well with Chris Stapleton’s soulful take on country.

After a few years of struggling to write new songs, Chris Stapleton appears to be coming out of his writers block and has been featuring numerous new songs in his live set this summer, including a song named “Minimum Wage” co-written with Mike Campbell of Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers fame, as well as another called “Bad Side of The Blood.” And then in October, Stapleton revealed a third new acoustic song called “Starting Over.” He’s also been playing a song with concert openers Brothers Osborne called “Get Down to Arkansas.”

Don’t be surprised if 2020 sees a new single, and a new album from Stapleton.
