Clint Black Cancels / Reschedules Shows for Surgery

He’s going to be alright. But right as Clint Black was getting ready to start his “Summer’s Comin'” tour, the future Country Music Hall of Famer is having to cancel numerous shows due to unexpected back surgery his doctors are recommending he get done ASAP. The tour was supposed to kick off on Friday, June 2nd in Overland Park, Kansas. But the Kansas show and six others are being canceled or rescheduled.
Four shows in Texas and another at the Hard Rock Hotel in Tulsa are also affected by the cancellations. See all the dates below. The “Summer’s Comin'” tour is currently scheduled to resume as normal on June 24 in North Carolina at the Winston-Salem Fairgrounds Annex. It runs until late September in California.
Nobody was more successful in country music in the 90’s decade than Clint Black, save for Garth Brooks. A whopping thirteen #1 singles including his first four consecutively, and a total of 29 Top 10 hits puts Clint Black in the elite league now known as the “Class of ’89.” Clint Black also kept it (mostly) country throughout his career, and has always been seen as a good guy in the industry.
Now at age 61, Clint Black continues to put on quality shows, sometimes touring with his wife Lisa Hartman and their daughter Lily Pearl, though his summer tour is just Black solo, along with his band led by long time collaborator and guitarist Hayden Nicholas.

In similar news, Moe Bandy had to cancel his scheduled appearance at the Legends of Country Night in Selma, Texas on May 27 due to hospitalization. Moe’s band served as the house band for all of the acts who were there.

Here is hoping a speedy recovery for Moe Bandy as well.

Years ago, the old CMT site had a message board where people posted comments and questions and answers and somebody asked if “Americana” music comes from the Moe Bandy song. I answered, “Yes, Americana music is defined as country music by people who hate Moe Bandy.”
I always liked Moe actually. He was new traditionalist before that became a thing. I’m just glad that he’s still performing when he’s too old to die young.
