Cody Jinks Announces Lineup for Inaugural Loud & Heavy Fest
Hold on to your asses, because it’s going to get loud, heavy, twangy, country, and crunchy when Cody Jinks circles the wagons in his native Ft. Worth and puts on one hell of a party he’s dubbing the Loud and Heavy Fest on Saturday, August 18th at the Panther Island Pavilion.
Featuring Southern rockers Whiskey Myers, metal band Corrosion of Conformity, Austin metal Gods The Sword, hard country crooners Whitey Morgan, Ward Davis, Paul Cauthen, reigning Saving Country Music Song of the Year winner Sunny Sweeney, throwback Highway Queen Nikki Lane, and modern day folk hero Colter Wall, there will be a little something for everyone.
And this will not be your typical festival at your typical venue. Texas is balls hot in August ladies and gentlemen, and the Panther Island Pavilion is positioned in the heart of Ft. Worth, right on the banks of the Trinity River, with the city skyline flanking it in the back. This means there’s an option for you to go for a soak, or straight up hang out in the river all day as your choice of seating while bands play. There is also hilltop seating and plenty of open space for folks who don’t want to get their toes wet.
Personally curated by Cody Jinks himself, the event is meant to be the premier gathering point of his dedicated fans known as the Flockers. There will also be plenty of food beverages, kids activities, and artisan vendors available.
Cody Jinks recently announced that he’s signed with independent music juggernaut Rounder Records, and will be releasing his latest album Lifers on July 27. The album release will serve as a good backdrop for Loud and Heavy Fest. A new Cody Jinks single “Must Be The Whiskey” will be out June 15th.

Animosity remains one of my favorite albums of all time.

In The Arms of God is their masterpiece, imo.

I was a big metal and hardcore fan as a kid…but actually i don’t buy this trend of mixing metal/hc with country.

Cody used to sing thrash metal, so it makes sense to me.
And there’s something for everyone here, with no bro country. A winner in my book.

Just curious, what were you expecting and which acts don’t you like? I think it’s a great lineup and would, actually have, seen most of them within the last 12-18 months.

Seen most of them on their own that is.

If I was in a more stable point in life, I’d be making arrangements for this as soon as possible. Killer lineup, in my opinion.

Awesome! Not a metal person, but I’d pay to see any of Cody Jinks, Whitey Morgan, Sunny Sweeney, Nikki Lane, Colter Wall individually, let alone at the same event.

This lineup needs to play The Gorge.
The Cheap Seats.

Left to my own devices, this is pretty similar to what kind of show I would put together.

That’s a great lineup and sounds like it would be fun show. Unfortunately, it’s too far from here so I’ll have to wait until sometime in the future to Meet the Flockers….Sorry, someone had to make the joke.

For the most part I’m not a big fan of mixing genre’s for festivals but like Cody I used to be in a metal band so I can deal with anything. Never was a COC fan The Sword is pretty good. Who’s kidding who if this show was in my town I’d sit through Walker Hayes, Mitchell Tenpenny, and Sam Hunt if Cody was headlining and Morgan and Sweeney were interspersed….lol I don’t know how Cody rolls but I’d bet COC won’t be given full P.A. power to assault everyone’s “aural senses” before he comes on.

Sounds like there is a brawl at most of Cody’s shows these days. Throw some metal fans in the mix and what could go wrong?
Great lineup, but I wouldn’t be making eye contact. 😀

Hello,
I’ve never been to Panther Pavilion. My wife and I bought general admission tickets. Upon ticket purchase it clearly states no leaving and re-entry. Do this include the river? Does general admission get me in the river, am I able to bring my own tube, get in the river, watch the show and then go back to dry land? Can I bring my own beer? Can I bring my own water? Can I bring my own food? I need more information on the venue. Moderator, please feel free to answer publicly or via email. Thank you.

See the website @ http://www.loudandheavyfest.com for details of what you can bring in with you. There is no access to the river once you enter unfortunately. One bottle of water (sealed) is allowed, other than that, no other food or drinks.
