Colter Wall, Robyn Ludwick, Jason Isbell + More Added to SCM’s Top 25 Spotify Playlist (#4)
2017 is turning out to be a banner year for country and roots music, and we still have some of the most highly-anticipated titles still yet to be released. In an attempt to keep up and help you sift through the musical selection process, Saving Country Music has just juiced its Top 25 Current Spotify Playlist with some new selections.
Making the grade is “Texas Jesus” from Central Texas songwriter Robyn Ludwick off of her recently-released album This Tall to Ride. Colter Wall enters the Top 25 with his murder ballad “Kate McCannon” from his brand new self-titled release. And Jason Isbell just debuted what many consider possibly one of his best songs ever in a career of them with “If We Were Vampires” which would be a dereliction of Saving Country Music duty not to include.
Also Joseph Huber has his slot in the Top 25 freshened with the upbeat and fiddle-driven “16-10,” and now that John Moreland‘s latest record Big Bad Luv has been released, one of the best songs from the record, “Slow Down Easy” has been selected. The playlist can be streamed below, and for those who don’t do the Spotify thing, a list of the recommendations can be seen below as well.

AJ is great. Not the most polished guy around vocally, but to me that can be a bit of a good thing as long as one can write a damn good song. I would take his album over anything else released this year, except for Way Out West or the Eady album.

Thank you for including this song, I had not heard of Lindi Ortega until I saw her name posted on your site. She has such a unique sound and I love it.

It’s a shame more people haven’t heard of Lindi. Check out her songs Murder of Crows, Cigarettes & Truckstops, Tin Star, and Lived & Died Alone, and you will be hooked.
