A 43-year-old West Texas man named Lamar Barry Andrews is in the pokey tonight for shooting a television. The incident occurred Friday (12/16) morning in Horizon City, TX, just outside of El Paso after Andrews and his girlfriend got in an argument over a country music video playing on the TV.

“When officers arrived at the scene, they met with the female complainant who said that her significant other had discharged his Colt .45 handgun into her television resulting from a heated discussion over a country song video that was playing at the time,” Police Chief Mike McConnell said Friday. Police found a bullet lodged in a metal fence outside the home, and confiscated the Colt .45. The television was pronounced dead at the scene.

The incident occurred at a home in the 14000 block of Desert Point Drive at approximately 4:40 a.m. according to police. Andrews was booked into the El Paso County Jail under a $2,500 bond for deadly conduct.

Chief McConnell said he did not know which country music video was playing at the time of the incident. But if it was on the television, chances are it was pretty terrible.
