The Texas music community was left in shock when it was reported that long-time Dallas/Fort Worth award-winning DJ Justin Frazell had been indicted on a 2nd degree sexual assault charge in March from an incident that occurred over New Years involving a teenage girl. Now a second unrelated sex charge has been filed, and Frazell has been arrested once again.

The 47-year-old from Mansfield was booked into the Denton County Jail on Monday, April 26th on one count of indecent assault, which is a misdemeanor. According to Dallas News, he was released a short time later on $2,500 bail. The incident allegedly happened on December 22nd, 2020. On that day, Frazell was in Denton County conducting an interview with country artist Cody Jinks for Frazell’s Texas Red Dirt Roads program, though it’s unclear if the alleged indecent assault happened around that event.

Saving Country Music has reached out to authorities in Denton Country for further information, but no more details are available on the incident at this time.

The initial rape allegation occurred after Justin Frazell hosted a party at his Mansfield home on New Year’s Eve for his family and other friends. The teenage girl was there with her family, but decided to stay the night at the house where Frazell lives with his wife and two children. The alleged victim was a friend of one of Frazell’s daughters. The teens were allowed to drink at the party, and were hanging out together in one of the rooms of the house. The teenage girl then stayed overnight at the house after her parents and other guests had left about 2 a.m.

Then according to the arrest warrant, Justin Frazell entered the bedroom where the teen was sleeping, and gave her a White Claw alcoholic drink. Eventually the teen fell asleep, but woke up with Frazell reportedly pulling her blanket back and performing sex acts on her without her consent. When another child in the house came to a nearby bathroom, Frazell stated he was checking on the teen, and eventually left the bedroom.

The teenage girl then began texting relatives to come get her at about 5 a.m. on New Year’s Day. Frazell went back to the bedroom, but the accuser told him to leave her alone. A relative eventually picked the teen up at the residence, and she told her parents about the incident, who called the police.

Justin Frazell was fired from his job as a radio morning show host at 95.9 The Ranch in Fort Worth on March 29th after the allegations surfaced. Frazell had worked at the radio station since 2009.

Before The Ranch, Justin Frazell worked at 570 am KLIF in Dallas starting in 1996, and worked as a traffic reporter and weekend host for country station 99.5 The Wolf starting in 1998. Frizzell was regularly nominated and awarded by Texas radio organizations for his work at The Ranch, and has hosted and sponsored numerous charitable events at hospitals for premature babies after his two children were born premature.

More information on the new allegation if or when it becomes available.
