George Strait to Appear at Inaugural ‘Legends of Music Row’ Fest

George Strait doesn’t make many public appearances these days after officially retiring from the road. But he’ll be making a “special appearance” at the inaugural Legends of Music Row Festival set to transpire October 13-15 in Key West, Florida at the Coffee Butler Amphitheater—the same epicenter for the Texas/Red Dirt-themed Mile 0 Fest, and the new Key Western Fest in February. He’ll be appearing with close friend Jamey Johnson for a few songs during the three day fest.

Instead of curating the festival solely around names that are known primarily as performers, Legends of Music Row Fest is taking the unique approach of also including well-known songwriters and producers in the mix, who also happen to be renown performers as well. This is in the spirit of Key West, which has been a haven and retreat for country music creators and collaborators going all the way back to Jimmy Buffett, Jerry Jeff Walker, David Allan Coe, and long-time Key West resident is legendary songwriter, Shel Silverstein.

The Legends of Music Row lineup includes names like Randall King, Jamey Johnson, Blackberry Smoke, Ronnie Dunn of Brooks and Dunn, and Lainey Wilson. But Country Music Hall of Fame songwriter Dean Dillon will also appear, along with future Hall of Famer Scotty Emerick. You also have legendary producers in Buddy Cannon known for working with Willie Nelson, and Jim “Moose” Brown who’s worked with just about everyone.

The lineup is interesting because you can draw a connecting line between almost all of these performers, which means the stories and collaborations with be extra personal, with each day starting off with multiple performers on stage. Of course, getting to and staying in Key West is not an easy task, and this event will not be for everyone. But those looking for a more intimate experience in paradise with some of the most legendary names in country, this may be right up your alley.
