John Prine Plans Inaugural “All The Best Fest” with Killer Lineup

About the only thing hotter than John Prine in Americana music at the moment is the is the foreign country destination festival, so why not combine the two. And if you have a boatload of money, and/or a boat or plane to get your ass to the Dominican Republic, then you too can be part of John Prine’s inaugural “All The Best Festival” at the Breathless and Now Onyx Resort in Punta Cana November 11th through 15th, 2019.

Operated by John Prine’s record label Oh Boy Records, and Sixthman, who is famous for putting on the Americana Cayamo Cruise, the Outlaw Country Cruise, and other such musical vacations in southern latitudes, the initial lineup sees Jason Isbell & The 400 Unit, Nathaniel Rateliff, Iris Dement, I’m With Her, Amanda Shires, Paul Thorn, Tyler Childers and Gretchen Peters all joining John Prine for the event. Prine is promising four performances just from himself, and plenty of collaborations between the respective performers, and more performers will be announced at a future date.

All-Inclusive packages boast four nights at the Breathless & Now Onyx Resort, ground transportation to and from the joint, food, drinks, non-motorized water sports, wireless internet, admission to all festival performances, those little umbrellas in your drink upon request, and more.

At 71-years-old, John Prine has been enjoying one hell of a resurgence lately, winning the Artist of the Year at the Americana Music Awards last year, getting nominated for the distinction again this year, and turning in the best sales and chart performance of his career with his latest record The Tree of Forgiveness. Plus he gets to be John Prine while the rest of us schmucks just stand with mouth agape at the magic of his songs.
