Jon Pardi Announces World Tour, Cool Openers

Jon Pardi is calling it the “Mr. Saturday Night World Tour,” but let’s just go ahead an label it the “mainstream country that doesn’t suck and actually sounds country” tour. That’s been Jon Pardi’s calling card for a while now, and he even kicked it up a notch with his recent album Mr. Saturday Night. Now he’ll be touring it all over the country and world come late summer into the fall.
Even better, he’s taking along some pretty kick ass opening acts that also happen to be signed to major labels, but also are surprisingly good and country, most notably Midland and Randall King, along with Jackson Dean and Ella Langley also opening dates. In fact most dates have at least three openers, so you will get plenty of music for your buck.
What’s also interesting about this tour is it finds Jon Pardi and his openers playing arenas. Heretofore, Pardi’s tours have been mostly resigned to amphitheaters, like his 2022 “Ain’t Always The Cowboy” tour. Pardi has also spent years as an opening act, playing ahead of folks like Dierks Bentley and Miranda Lambert. This means that Pardi is yet another actual country artist that has reached the arena level.
While many of the big mainstream awards have eluded Jon Pardi so far, he did start off in 2017 with New Artist of the Year wins from both the CMAs and ACMs. Graduating to arenas means he’s finally seeing the fruits of his labors, and it once again speaks to how true country music is reaching new heights in the rise of appeal in music and artists that are real.

What ever happened with Arnold? This would’ve been his thing and he’d have done commented 20 times. Miss those days

He’s now Charley Crockett’s Country Butter or something like that, and I’m sure he’ll be chiming in soon.

I noticed he’s only playing arenas in the South or in the west coast. It’s a good start – but Jon’s weakest area will always be New England. If he can make it there, he can make it anywhere!!!
But it seems he’s avoiding that area

Thanks man. I can’t believe I’m remembered and beloved on this site.

That third opener is a DJ that will likely play in-between sets of the other two opener and middle acts.
Also, these arenas are 7-10k each. He’s not at 20k arenas just yet, but give it another year or two and he will!

Serious push to make country music big in the UK and Ireland, and it may just be working. This year’s C2C lineup was kind of disappointing, but getting quality mainstream acts like Pardi over there to balance out the Thomas Rhetts is a very good thing. The supporting artists are the icing on the cake. Of course, the big overseas tour this year is Luke Combs and he’s bringing along some quality openers as well.

Did the presale today, people were scooping up tix. Eveytime I tried to click on a section, tickets unavailable. I did manage to find some *affordable* decent seats.

Jon Pardi isn’t bad but to me his music is as enjoyable as waking up at 2am in 2007 to the George Lopez show – not great, but the best option at that moment compared to what’s playing on PBS or NBC.

Great to see another true country artist growing into larger venues. It’s interesting to hear radio country folks talk about going to see Stapleton in a 25k seat venue and be blown away by the show or maybe by the lack of a show. No fireworks shooting out of the drum kit. No swinging from a trapeze. Just five incredibly talented musicians playing like they would at a bar just with bigger speakers. Maybe what we’ve all known for a long time is starting to catch on with the masses? Just play good damn country music and skip all the bs and people will come.
And for the record I like that Jackson Dean kid a lot. Good to see him hooking up with Pardi. Definite upgrade from opening for Blake and will get a more receptive audience in front of him.

I really want to believe that John Pardi is authentic in being a traditionalist. I happened by his “Heartache Medication” song while radio surfing and thought it was a strange combination of Conway’s “Tight Fittin’ Jeans” and George Strait’s “Fool Hearted Memory” with autotuned singing and some electronic mixing. Overall it sounded like the most country song in today’s mainstream radio scape, but only time will tell if I am correct in my observation.

I like pardi but for some reason I don’t love his music as much as maybe I should. Still would be a good show but not coming near me.

Overrated and underwhelming.

Should’ve saved this comment for something Morgan Wallen related.

: D No, i placed this comment exactly where it needed to go.

I saw him last summer with Lainey Wilson and Hailey Whittiers opening. Great show and he even threw in a Strait “Cross My Heart” cover at the end.

Who is DJ HiMax? I know I can Google but it’s been a long day and I think I will put a record on and get the grill fired up.

That’s Diplo’s new secret identity.

Always fun when they travel over the pond, see you in Stockholm!
March 22, 2023 @ 8:40 pm
Interesting that his North American shows are on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays. He must fly home Sunday-Wednesday?

I think Jon Pardi is an awesome and amazing singer and songwriter. I absolutely love his song, Your Heart or Mine. I seen some comments about him being overrated and that’s so not true. Jon Pardi has worked hard to get where he’s at today and deserve to be called Country’s greatest. I wish Jon Pardi would come to Roanoke Virginia…
