Lineup for 10th Annual Cayamo Cruise Announced
For 10 years now, the Cayamo Cruise organized by Sixthman Productions has been one of the most defining annual events in the Americana music realm. Quarantining so much Americana talent in one place has resulted in many memorable and legendary collaborations, intimate performances from some of the best songwriters to ever suck air on land or sea, all presented in an ideal setting for making music and memories.
Since the launching of Cayamo, many other music cruises have come on board trying to capture a similar magic, including others from Sixthman like their Outlaw Cruise. But Cayamo still remains the flagship cruise to beat. The mystique of the event was only helped this year when Buddy Miller & friends released an album recorded on the cruise called Cayamo Sessions at Sea.
But if you’re wanting to climb aboard for 2017’s installment of Cayamo February 19th through 26th, leaving from Tampa, and stopping over in Mexico and Honduras, you’re out of luck. The event is so renown, it sells out every year even before the full lineup is released. However, folks hoping to embark on future Cayamo cruises are encouraged to sign up on the waiting list.
Even if you can’t go, it’s always fun to peruse the lineup and ride the waves vicariously, and to see who some of the new movers and shakers in Americana might be.

1. That’s one hell of a line up. Hell of a line up!! Anything with American Aquarium and Kacey Musgraves is ok with me.
2. having been on several sixth man cruises, (the Rock Boat more specifically), I have to say that, that’s the quintessential sixth man cruise to go on. Over the years, I was able to rub elbows with Blackberry Smoke, Zack Brown, Marc Brousard Will Hoge, Green River Ordnance and many more. The name implies that it’s a rock oriented cruse, but they have also hosted many up and coming country and americana acts over the years.

Ohhhhh, this hurts. I went on Cayamo in 2011 and it was the best vacation of my life. As great as the lineup was then, I think this one is a good deal stronger. If I could (like if I started a family much, much earlier than I did), I would go every year.
Saw Sam Lewis opening for Margo Price at the Birchmere in the DC area on Monday. He and his band cooked, so he should be fun to see. Margo and her band were just great. A whole lot of fun. I don’t think the venue sold out, but there weren’t any obvious empty patches, so I would think about 400 people came out, maybe more. Got to meet her after the show. One of the best merch table conversations I’ve had with an artist. She was very relaxed and seemed to really enjoy talking to the fans.

Kacey Musgraves and Lee Ann Womack. Two of my three biggest musical heroes. Hell yes!

I’ve been on 4 Cayamos. Missed last year and managed to grab a berth for 2O17 by the skin of my teeth. Phew! This year’s cruise will be epic! A seven day infusion of non-stop musical goodness. This is one cruise you actually loose weight on. The feast is the music.
