The hope still is that country music legend Loretta Lynn is on the road to recovery and rehabilitation after suffering a stroke on May 5th, but she’s not ready to return to the stage just yet. Though no official reason has been given, word came down on Wednesday (6-21) that Loretta would be canceling performances on Saturday, July 8th at the Washington Pavilion in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, and at the Five Flags Center in Dubuque, Iowa near Des Moines on July 21st.

After suffering the May 5th stroke, an update was given on May 15th, saying that Loretta had been moved from the hospital to a rehabilitation facility and was “doing great,” though she was advised by doctors to stay off the road while she was recuperating. Loretta has not made a public appearance since the stroke, though her Loretta Lynn Ranch will be hosting a Remembering Conway Twitty concert on July 1st. The next Loretta Lynn appearances currently on the schedule are August 24th and 25th at the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville to coincide with the release of her new album.

It was also just announced that Loretta is scheduled to perform at the Tennessee Motorcycle and Music Revival to be held at her ranch in Hurricane Mills, TN September 28th through October 1st. The Motorcycles and Music Revival will include music, motorcycles, food, art, and entertainment on the 400 acre site. The Loretta Lynn camp recently cut ties with another motorcycle event before announcing the new one.

Loretta celebrated her 85th birthday on April 14th, and recently announced a new 13-song album called Wouldn’t It Be Great would be released via Sony’s Legacy Recordings on August 18th. It was recorded primarily at the Cash Cabin Studios in Hendersonville, TN, with producer (and Lynn’s daughter) Patsy Lynn Russell, and caretaker of the Cash Cabin Studios, John Carter Cash.

Loretta Lynn’s previous album Full Circle received a Grammy nomination, and on August 25th the Country Music Hall of Fame will unveil a special Loretta Lynn exhibit to help commemorate the museum’s 50th Anniversary.
