Miranda Lambert Honors First Responders on Wildcard Tour

Miranda Lambert has been spending the first part of 2020 on her Wildcard tour which commenced in mid January in Mississippi, and just wrapped up its first major leg in Sacramento, California on February 29th. As part of the tour, Miranda has been doing something unique to pay tribute to the first responders who rush into burning buildings and respond to 911 calls when trouble strikes.

Inspired by local DJ Kelly Ford of WNSH in New York who regularly honors first responders on her morning show, Miranda invited radio listeners to nominate local first responders in each tour market who would receive a pair of show tickets as well as the opportunity to meet Lambert ahead of the show.

“It was an honor to meet some of the incredible first responders, the men and women across the country who have dedicated their lives to service and bravery to keep their communities safe,” says Lambert. “Hearing each one of their unique stories was such an inspiration to me and my team.”

Of course, Miranda Lambert has a reason to hold first responders near and dear to her heart. Her father Rick, and her husband, Brendan McLoughlin, are both former police officers. McLoughlin recently retired to become the head of Miranda Lambert’s personal security.

Miranda Lambert has also been honoring some other heroes from Texas lately as well. Multiple shows in February were opened by The Randy Rogers Band and Parker McCollum. The Wildcard tour commences once again on April 23rd in Boise, Idaho, and will be in Canada for six dates in May.
