Morgan Wallen Arrested in Nashville at Kid Rock’s Bar

They always say to watch out for a hillbilly with a hit record, and the week that the mustachioed and mulleted Morgan Wallen minted a #1 at country radio with the R&B-infused and derivative “Chasin’ You,” he was arrested by Nashville’s finest outside of Kid Rock’s “Big Ass Honky Tonk and Rock N’ Roll Steakhouse.” That’s the one on Lower Broadway with a woman’s rear end on the sign if you need a reference point.

According to Nashville police, the 27-year-old from Sneedville, Tennessee was arrested at roughly 11:00 p.m. Saturday night (5-23) for public intoxication and disorderly conduct. He was thrown out of the Kid Rock bar after reportedly kicking glass items, and police witnessed Wallen continuing to be verbally abusive to passers by, refusing to leave the area with his friends after numerous requests.

Officers say the Wallen has a strong odor of alcohol, and was deemed a danger to himself and the public. Feeling there was a reasonable likelihood his offensive behavior would continue, he was arrested. His bond was set at $500, which was paid and he was released. He will face a court date for the two misdemeanor charges in July.

On Sunday afternoon (5-24), Morgan Wallen addressed the situation in a statement, saying, “Hey y’all just wanted to clear the air. I went out downtown last night with a few old friends. After a couple bar stops, we were horse-playing with each other. We didn’t mean any harm, and we want to say sorry to any bar staff or anyone that was affected … Thank you to the local authorities for being so professional and doing their job with class. Love y’all.”

Morgan Wallen made a splash in mainstream country when he released his debut single “Up Down” featuring Florida Georgia Line that eventually reached #1. At the time, Wallen shared the same producer as the duo in Joey Moi. Wallen landed his second #1 with “Whiskey Glasses” in June of 2019. Now with three #1 songs, he’s one of the mainstream’s fastest-rising stars. Morgan has also received notoriety and acclaim for regularly covering Jason Isbell’s song “Cover Me Up.”
