Newest Additions to Saving Country Music’s Top 25 Current Playlist (#41)

Big changes abound in the latest update to the Saving Country Music Top 25 playlist, including the playlist finally coming to YouTube for people who are unable or unwilling to listen on Spotify, Apple Music, or Google Play.

A lot of great discoveries have occurred on Saving Country Music in 2019, but none may be as big as Rhode Island classic country singer Charlie Marie, whose new new song “Rodeo” off her self-titled EP comes in at #1 on the new playlist update. Another recent discovery has been Tylor & the Train Robbers, and they make the list with “Good At Bad News” from the recently released album Best of the Worst Kind.

Doug Seegers touched us a few years ago with his story of a homeless man who was rediscovered by music, and who rediscovered his voice. He became embraced by the Americana community in the United States, and a superstar in Sweden. He’s finally back with an original record on May 31st, and he does a brilliant job encapsulating the heart behind his story in the song “Give It Away.” Another artist who owes much of his popularity to fans overseas is Danny Vera from the Netherlands. Though this song and artist might seem out of left field, “Roller Coaster” has been setting the pace for Europe-based Americana lately, and is worthy of a wider audience.

Other new additions the the playlist include the Randy Rogers Band‘s “Wine in a Coffee Cup” off their new album Hellbent, Reba McEntire‘s “No U in Oklahoma” freshens her spot on the playlist, and after Ashley McBryde‘s “Girl Goin’ Nowhere” initially lost its bullet on country radio (meaning it was fall in audience instead of gaining), all of a sudden it has seen second life, cresting in the Top 40 this week and rising. To show support for the radio single, it’s been put back on the playlist as well.
