Newest Additions to Saving Country Music’s Top 25 Current Playlist (#47)

When we look back at the first week of August 2019, we might count it as a week for the ages in country music. Not only did we have Tyler Childers drop a new landmark album in Country Squire, Mike and the Moonpies came out of left field dropping a surprise landmark album of their own. The title track from the new Tyler Childers record, and “If You Want a Fool Around” from the Moonpies’ Cheap Silver and Solid Country Gold lead the latest additions to Saving Country Music’s Top 25 Playlist, which is intended to keep you up-to-date with the biggest releases in country music, right here, right now.

We’ve also had a bunch of new announcements for highly-anticipated records recently, also helping to feed the playlist. This includes the song “Willie Nelson’s Wall” from up-and-coming Texas traditionalist Vincent Neil Emerson—the first song from his record Fried Chicken & Evil Women out September 13th. Chris Knight also just dropped a new song on us from his first album in 7 years. Called “I’m William Callahan,” it is the first taste from his record Almost Daylight October 11th. Charley Crockett has a new album on the way too. Called The Valley, the title track makes it on the playlist.

And the new songs from highly-anticipated albums keep coming. Well-respected songwriter Kendell Marvel has an new album called Solid Gold Sounds also out October 11th, and the lead single “Hard Time with The Truth” makes the list. And last but not least, Billy Strings and his song “Taking Water” have been added to the playlist. His new album HOME will be out September 27th.
