Newest Adds to Saving Country Music’s Top 25 Current Playlist (#58)

The Saving Country Music Top 25 Playlist is built to keep you informed on all the best songs and albums coming out right here, right now in country and roots music. It’s available on most all streaming formats (see below), or you can just use the song, artist, and album recommendations to find something new to listen to. New songs have just been added.

Newest Additions:

Jesse Daniel – “Bringin’ Home The Roses” – Jesse Daniel continues to impress, so much so he replaces himself at the very top of the playlist with his just-released song “Bringin’ Home The Roses.” Songs like this are the reason you’re a country music fan. His new record Rollin’ On is scheduled to be released on March 27th (read more) and it’s quickly becoming one of the most anticipated releases of 2020.

Johnny Falstaff – “Lost in the City Lights” – The title track from his just-released new album, Johnny Falstaff brings a smooth voice to hard twang, and melts hearts in the process. The Texas-born, Germany-based honky tonker is poised to spread the word about his music more than every before with this new record, and this song is as good a place as any to start.

Randy Rogers and Wade Bowen – “Rodeo Clown” – We’ve been waiting five years for the return of this super duo to the studio after Hold My Beer Vol. 1 blew everyone’s minds and expectations for a hard country record from these two Texas music stalwarts. They don’t disappoint with this debut song from Vol. 2 out May 8th.

Ashley McBryde – “First Thing I Reach For” – McBryde pulls off the very rare feat of having two songs in the playlist at the same time. As her radio single “One Night Standards” finally starts to see traction on the charts, she just released this album cut from her upcoming record Never Will, and it’s so damn good it would be sacrilege to not showcase it here. Even though Ashley’s career is known for putting some rock muscle behind her songs, this might be her most country yet, and the writing is superb.

Gabe Lee – “Honky Tonk Hell” – The title track off the songwriter’s new album coming out March 13th finds a completely different mood from the more folky sounds of his first record. But his growlings about the ills of Nashville sound great either way. And if you want something more genteel from Gabe Lee, he also just released a new piano ballad called “Emmylou” you should check out.

Willie Nelson – “First Rose of Spring” – Unlike a lot of the artists in the playlist, Willie Nelson doesn’t need our help cementing his place in the pantheon of country music. But “First Rose of Spring” is so damn good, it had to be given a spotlight. It’s another title track, with Nelson delivering his new record on April 24th.

Porter Union – “I’ve Got You Covered” – This partner duo doesn’t get nearly enough recognition, even after they competed recently on the TV show Real Country on Travis Tritt’s team. Hopefully their new record Loved & Lost is their moment. It’s available on March 6th.
