Emily Scott Robinson – “The Time For Flowers” – Saving Country Music’s reigning Song of the Year winner for her 2019 composition “The Dress” delivers with this timely offering of wisdom and warmth, featuring both Robinson’s class-leading songwriting and soothing, subtle warble. Mrs. Robinson does it again.

Rattlesnake Milk – “Dave Dudley” – On the dark and dirty side of country music, this Austin-based outfit who has many singing their praises for their new self-titled underground album. This song pays tribute to one of the overlords of country trucking songs.

Arlo McKinley – “Walking Shoes” – Arlo McKinley was the very final artist John Prine himself approved to be signed to Prine’s Oh Boy Records, and McKinley is readying a debut solo record called Die Midwestern slated for release on August 14th. Knowing what Arlo is capable of and with the quality of the first single “Walking Shoes,” it’s certainly an album to get on your radar.

Bryan James – “On Borrowed Time” – Florida-based Bryan James delivers plenty of gruff and attitude on his new album Politics or Religion, but don’t overlook his songwriting. “On Borrowed Time” proves he can offer the reflection of a Sunday morning, not just the party on a Saturday night.
