Newest Additions:

Triston Marez – “Cold, Cold Night” – The future of country music is safe with this young man who will release his self-titled debut April 16th. Just the right balance of traditionalism and pertinent style compliment the music of Triston Marez, and you can hear that in “Cold, Cold Night.”

Katie Jo – “Pawn Shop Queen” – Most all of us are broken, battered, and discarded versions of what we ideally wanted to be. But embracing that is what gives us character and camaraderie with each other. This title track from Katie Jo’s new record is one of those uniquely-crafted songs with the right measure of despondency and nostalgia to haunt you keenly after you hear it.

Alan Jackson – “Where Have You Gone” – Alan Jackson will be releasing a long-awaited 21-song album on May 14th after a six year delay in new music. The title track is not the pining for a lover, but a lament about where the country music in country music has gone. Seems about perfect for a playlist from “Saving Country Music.”

Dallas Moore – “Every Night I Burn Another Honky Tonk Down” – One of the very last of the true Outlaws, Dallas Moore has just released his latest record called The Rain producer by Dean Miller, and this honky tonk burner about burning honky tonk’s down is a good place to start.

The Golden Roses – “When I’m Gone” – This authentic Austin honky tonk band solicited the help of producer Adam Odor and multiple members of Mike and the Moonpies for their new album Devil’s in the Details. It’s instigated by this succulent track featuring the excellent harmonies from this band and excellent instrumentation.

John Schneider – “Roy” and “Cowboys Don’t Get Old” – Bo Duke doesn’t get one, but two new songs in the playlist? When his latest album Truck On is as good as it is, that’s the latitude afforded you. These songs show the two sides of the record—fun and crazy truck driving country, along with surprisingly well-written and serious material as well.
