See Charley Crockett on Tour When You Can

I’m just warning you right now folks, similar to the warnings issued for Sturgill Simpson, Tyler Childers, Billy Strings and the like. See your favorite independent artist in an intimate setting when you can, because sometimes these guys catch fire, and next thing you know you’re staring at your computer screen or phone and trying to justify dropping three figures on nosebleeds seats.

Charley Crockett is quickly rising up the ranks of independent country artists, and you can tell that by the type of venues he’s starting to book during his current tour, and the festivals adding him to their rosters. If you got the opportunity to see him in a small club with a gaggle of like-minded souls, count yourself lucky. If he’s coming to your area and playing a smaller haunt, don’t skip out. Even if he’s playing a theater, see him when you can, because it might be an even bigger one next time he comes through town.

Along with playing at Under the Big Sky Fest in Montana, the Austin City Limits Fest both weekends, Hinterland, Blue Ox, MerleFest, and Bristol Rhythm & Roots, Charley Crockett will be playing at all kinds of cool places this summer and into the fall, like the Turf Club in St. Paul, and the Mercury Ballroom in Louisville.

Speaking to his rising stock, Crockett’s currently being featured in a display beside fellow South Texas native Freddy Fender at the Country Music Hall of Fame. Folks just driving past the Hall these days have been remarking at the big banner right out front with Crockett’s name on it, causing many to ask who he is, and liking the answer when they work to find out.

Charley Crockett released a tribute to James “Slim” Hand in February called 10 For Slim, and an original record in 2020 called Welcome to Hard Times. With how prolific he is, don’t be surprised if you hear about another record on the way from him sooner or later.

And make sure you go see him if he comes to your town.
