Shaver Mends Ticker, Ready for Muddy Roots

Early last week Outlaw country music legend Billy Joe Shaver had surgery in Austin where they put a stent in a coronary artery. Shaver had a heart attack about 10 years ago, and the surgery allowed him to miss a scheduled arraignment on a felony gun possession charge. Shaver was found not guilty for shooting a man in self defense in 2007, at a trial last month in Waco, but still faces the federal gun charge. However the surgery pushes back that date to June 25, meaning the songwriter will be able to attend the Muddy Roots Festival this upcoming weekend!
