It’s been a busy week in the land of country music traditionalist Cody Jinks, and it was crowned by a ringing endorsement from wrestling personality turned entrepreneur and podcaster Stone Cold Steve Austin. Earlier this week Steve Austin posted a picture of himself on Instagram wearing a Cody Jinks shirt and sipping a beer. At first he just shouted out the beer, but then added a comment shortly thereafter, “SHIT!! TOO MANY STEEL CHAIRS… Check out Cody Jinks for all things music, shows, and Merch!”

This isn’t Cody Jinks’ first major wrestling endorsement. Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson is also a big fan of Cody, has endorsed Cody numerous times, as well as Jamey Johnson and Sturgill Simpson. This also isn’t the first time Steve Austin has shown his support to an independent country artist. Last fall he featured Joshua Hedley on his podcast.

Also this week, Cody Jinks released Part 1 and Part 2 of a series of videos tied to the title track of his latest record, Lifers. Scenes of everyday blue collar workers are intermixed with photos of actual Cody Jinks fans, many who refer to themselves as “Flockers,” highlighting them in their various occupations. It speaks to the close knit community of salt-of-the-earth individuals Cody Jinks attracts, and sings his songs to (see videos below).

Jinks has also been releasing a lot of new tour dates lately, including a marquee show at Red Rocks in Colorado on July 13th, as well as shows in Charlotte, North Carolina, and Cedar Rapids, Iowa. He’s also opening numerous dates for Lynyrd Skynyrd coming this September.

What a lot of Cody Jinks fans are wondering is if there will be a second installment of the Loud and Heavy Fest after a successful inaugural experience in Ft. Worth last year. “Jinks here… Feeling pretty Loud & Heavy right now & maybe that means some sort of news is coming?” he said on Friday (4-5), so don’t be surprised if we get a date, location, and lineup soon.

Then on Friday Cody Jinks randomly dropped this little nugget on Twitter, “In 21 days, the band and I will plug in and start recording a plethora of new songs!”
