One of the most iconic and longest-lasting traditions in country music will be taking a second year off: Willie Nelson’s 4th of July Picnic. But Willie Nelson has plotted his return to live music with a select run of shows, and the Outlaw Music Festival Tour.
4th of July Picnic
A traditional like few others will transpire once again this summer when Willie Nelson celebrates the 4th of July by gathering together friends and family for his annual 4th of July Picnic. For the fourth year in a row, the event will be held at the Circuit of the Americas speedway just south of Austin, TX, and will include many long-standing invitees.
4th of July Picnic, Asleep at the Wheel, Billy Joe Shaver, David Allan Coe, Edie Brickell and the New Bohemians, Folk Uke, Jamestown Revival, Johnny Bush, Lukas Nelson & Promise of the Real, Margo Price, Particle Kid, Raelyn Nelson Band, Ray Wylie Hubbard, Ryan Bingham, Sturgill Simpson, The Head and The Heart, The Wild Feathers, Willie Nelson
One thing is for sure, the 4th of July in Texas is going to be hot. It’s also going to be a happening time for country music; so much so it’s going to be a hard to know where to point your nose. It was already setting up to be a good 4th of July for country music in 2015 with the holiday falling on a weekend this year.
