Ted Russell, Billy Joe, and Catching Up

Well I’m back from Pickathon. Had an amazing time, saw some great artists, met a lot of great people. Over the next few days (and weeks maybe) I’ll be talking about the bands I saw and people I met, and will share some interviews with you I did. Instead of boring you with a whole synopsis on an event that a lot of you will never be able to go to, I will pepper my experiences in while focusing mostly on highlighting the standout artists I saw, and a few that I got to hang out with.

In the meantime, I finally got the time to dot the period at the end of the trip I made to Texas, and wrote a review of the Billy Joe Shaver show that I saw at Luckenback, Texas, and you can read it under the “Luckenbach” tag at outlawmagazine.com.

Speaking of Outlaw Magazine, they also have a great interview up there with Ted Russell Kamp, who incidentally is going to be on Outlaw Radio TONIGHT (8-4) at 9 PM central. You can listen live on punkandbeansradio.com or if you miss it, it will be archived HERE.

And speaking of podcasts (don’t you just love my smooth segways!), for all you podcast nuts like me, ninebullets.net now has a monthly show, and just posted the July episode which highlights artists from this years Deep BlueS Festival among others, so roll over there and check that out if you get a chance.

So I think this gives you enough to chew on before I start bombarding you with reviews and interviews from Pickathon, as well as whatever else has me hot under the music collar at the moment.
