The Deslondes to Release New Album “Hurry Home”

There’s just something about the 5-piece collective of New Orleans country and roots songwriters traveling under the combined name The Deslondes that fills the heart with a renewed spirit when they take the stage and perform. It’s not an exhibition in blazing musicianship or a testament to superior performance. It’s the feeling that you’ve been invited into someone’s living room to watch and intimate and heartfelt gathering.

On June 23rd The Deslondes will release their second album Hurry Home via New West Records. “It’s a fitting title for this album because our lives and our songwriting revolve around leaving and returning, or searching for, home,” says the band. “And home can be a physical place, a relationship, or a state of mind.”

All five members—Sam Doores, Riley Downing, Dan Cutler, John James Tourville and Cameron Snyder—take turns singing and songwriting for the record, which was recorded in segments in Athens, GA, in Nashville at the studio of producer/engineer Andrija Tokic, and a makeshift recording studio in the Bywater portion of New Orleans, not too far from Deslonde Street that gives the band its curious name.

“Everybody in the band contributed at least two original songs, as we wanted to showcase the many sides of the Deslondes,” says the band.

Hurry Home can now be pre-ordered, and two songs have been released ahead of the album, “Muddy Water,” and “Hurricane Shakedown.”
