Turnpike Troubadours Add Second Red Rocks Reunion Show

Well, you knew this was likely in the cards with how quickly the first one sold out.

After officially announcing their reunification on November 29th, the Turnpike Troubadours turned around the next day and announced a reunion show for May 14th, 2022 at the legendary Red Rocks Ampitheater in Colorado with Reckless Kelly and Shovels & Rope opening.

With the pent up demand for Turnpike, and drawing from the entire United States since many of their fans were more than happy to travel to Colorado—let alone an impressive lineup of headliners—the show sold out almost immediately, with secondary market tickets being posted for sometimes upwards of four figures.

You can expect similar demand for a second show that has just been added on Sunday, May 15th, with tickets going on sale this Friday, December 17th. But hopefully this additional supply results in at least some alleviation for excited fans wanting to see the Turnpike Troubadours sooner rather than later. Shovels & Rope and Reckless Kelly will once again open the show.

Though many turned their ire towards ticket seller AXS and scalpers swooping in to purchase tickets to the first announced show, the truth of the matter is tickets were always going to be hard to come by. Though the Turnpike Troubadours weren’t especially known for selling out massive venues before their indefinite hiatus in 2019, when you take the cumulative number of Turnpike Troubadours fans across the country and only 9,500 seats available at Red Rocks, demand was always going to outpace supply.

At the least, this second show will give Turnpike fans a second opportunity to see their favorite band for the first time since the hiatus. But even if they miss out, very likely a more extensive tour will eventually be booked at some point in the future, with many more opportunities for people to see the band, and closer to home.
