Turnpike Troubadours Announce Reunion Show at Red Rocks

Hanukkah has officially commenced with its eight crazy nights, and the 12 days of Christmas are right around the corner. And it appears the week straddling the end of November and the beginning of December might be filled with a bevy of early Christmas presents for the fans of the Turnpike Troubadours.

First officially announcing their reunification after a 2 1/2 year hiatus on Monday (11-29) by posting a picture of the band all together once again, now word has come down that they will be playing a reunion show May 14th, 2022 at the legendary Red Rocks Ampitheater in Colorado. Shovels & Rope and Reckless Kelly will also be playing the show.

On Monday evening, the band posted a stylized photo of what some are considering a phoenix rising from the ashes through their Instagram stories. Then Tuesday morning that same art work was emblazoned with the show announcement. The last time the band played a show together was a 4-song performance at a benefit concert for Byron Berline on May 7th, 2019.

Tickets will go on sale December 3rd, with a presale December 2nd. For tickets, CLICK HERE.

No word yet on new music or a more extensive tour, but expect this Red Rocks show to sell out virtually immediately.

Formed in 2007 between frontman and primary songwriter Evan Felker, and bassist and songwriter R.C. Edwards, the Turnpike Troubadours went from a group of guys getting together to play some music for fun, to one of the biggest and most successful independent country bands in history. Joining them along the way in the most long-lasting lineup of the band has been fiddle player Kyle Nix, guitarist Ryan Engleman, and drummer Gabriel Pearson. “Hammerin’ Hank Early” also joined the band in recent years on steel guitar, dobro, and accordion.

Known for crafting sensible melodies underpinned by substantive lyrics, and imbuing traditional country with an energetic attitude, they became one of the biggest drawing and best-selling acts in Texas/Red Dirt of all time.

The band announced an “indefinite hiatus” in the spring of 2019 after numerous cancelled shows. Since then Turnpike Troubadours fans have been praying for this reunification that is finally happening.
