Turnpike Troubadours Cancel Final Appearances on Miranda Lambert Bandwagon Tour

This story has been updated.

The Turnpike Troubadours will not be appearing on the final few dates of the current “Bandwagon Tour” opening for Little Big Town and Miranda Lambert as previously scheduled. The Oklahoma-based band was originally scheduled to appear as openers on 10 of the dates during the tour, but have canceled their final two appearances at the Budweiser Stage in Toronto, Canada for Thursday, August 23rd, and the DTE Energy Music Theatre in Clarkston, Michigan on Friday, August 24th.

According to the publicist for the Turnpike Troubadours, “They are no longer playing those dates due to some serious family emergencies. The band needs to be close to home.”

Scheduled shows for the Turnpike Troubadours on August 30th at The Beaumont in Nebraska, as well as August 31st at the 9th Street Summerfest in Columbia, Missouri are still on according to management, as are all other previously-announced 2018 shows.

The Turnpike Troubadours first opened for Miranda Lambert during shows in early February, 2018 as part of her “Livin’ Like Hippies” tour, giving the band some of their first arena-level exposure. Miranda Lambert has been booking many up-and-coming and independent artists as part of her tours recently, including The Steel Woods, Lucie Silvas, Natalie Hemby, and Tenille Townes.

The Turnpike Troubadours have a full slate of live shows on their calendar for the rest of 2018, including the Medicine Stone Festival in Oklahoma they help host with Jason Boland in mid September, and a two-night stint at ACL Live in Austin November 30th and December 1st. They’re also playing Mile 0 Fest in Key West, FL in January 2019 (see full tour dates).
