The 5th Annual Medicine Stone Music Festival focusing on the best of Red Dirt music and sponsored by the Turnpike Troubadours, and Jason Boland & The Stragglers will once again commence at the Diamondhead Resort in Talequah, Oklahoma. This year the event will be held on September 21st-23rd, 2017, and they have just revealed the fest’s initial lineup.

Along with Turnpike and Boland, the festival will feature music by The Randy Rogers Band, Cody Canada and the Departed, along with Dalton Domino, Charley Crockett, Dave Kay, Flatland Cavalry, Jonny Burke, Lucero, Mike McClure, Shinyribs, Shane Smith and the Saints, Thomas Trapp, The Washitas, the Red Dirt Rangers, Red Shahan, Randy Crouch & Flying Horse, and Jacob Tovar.

Last year a little noise was made about the lack of female artists making the roster, and this year there appears to be more effort by the organizers to be more inclusive, including Bri Bagwell, Jamie Lin Wilson, Kaitlin Butts, and Sunny Sweeney making the initial lineup announcement. More artists will be added to the Medicine Stone roster closer to the event.

Another positive development is that in 2017, Medicine Stone will be the week before AmericanaFest in Nashville, and two weeks before the Pilgrimage Festival in Franklin, TN. In 2016, all three events coincided on the same weekend, causing some fans consternation on what destination festival to attend.

Along with music talent on multiple stages, Medicine Stone also features food, camping, RV spaces, hotel packages, and multiple other accommodations and features for attendees. Tickets will go on sale June 1st at www.medicinestoneok.com .
