Zephaniah OHora Full Band Concert from Pickathon Set to Stream

Few debut artists and albums have taken us off guard recently like This Highway did from Zephaniah OHora. The Countrypolitan throwback sound with a hint of early Merle Haggard offered such perfect interpretations of the classic era of country, it was eerie how much the words and music took you back to when country music was country music. It immediately put this New Yorker with a funny name at the very forefront of modern country revivalists, yet in such an original way.

Since then country fans have been salivating for something more from Zephaniah, and along with the Coronavirus shutdown putting the kibosh on all live music performances, people are just about busting at the seams for real music experiences featuring a full band. Well, you’ll have your opportunity on Saturday, May 9th as Zephaniah’s 2018 set from Pickathon will stream in its entirety. This buzzed-about performance that featured a dream team version of Zephaniah’s touring band was one for the ages, and now everyone will get an opportunity to experience it.

For years now, the Pickathon Festival outside of Portland, OR has been on the cutting edge of recording, broadcasting, and archiving video footage in festival form, with multiple HD cameras manned by an army of volunteers and professionals capturing every moment, as well as top quality audio that puts you right there in the audience.

Since early April, the festival has been letting loose of some of its most buzzed-about performances via live stream to help us all through the Coronavirus pause. Called “Pickathon Presents: A Concert A Day,” it has featured many other artists from around the country and roots world, including Tyler Childers, Margo Price, the Drive-By Truckers, Jeff Tweedy, and others, along with many other notable performers. Saving Country Music is proud to host the premier of the Zephaniah OHora performance.

Admission is free, but the concert streams are a fundraising drive for the MusiCares COVID-19 Relief Fund and viewers are strongly encouraged to donate. Amazon Music will stream the concert through its channel on Twitch, it will be simulcast on Facebook, as well as Pickathon’s YouTube channel, or you can watch via the embedded player below.

For those of you wondering when new music might be coming from Zephaniah, his second album was delayed due to the death of his producer Neal Casal, but rumor has the new project on the way perhaps late summer this year.

The Pickathon concert will premier at 3:00 p.m. Central, 1:00 p.m. Pacific. Zephaniah OHora will also be hanging around and chatting with viewers during the event. All donations go directly to MusiCares COVID-19 Relief Fund.
