Jesse Daniel Toasts Waylon, Releases New Tour Dates

Don’t fret for the future of country music ladies and gentlemen. If need be, Jesse Daniel will strap it on his back, and carry it into the future himself. This road-doggin’, honky-tonkin’, California-born, Texas-based singer and songwriter will be keeping the twang alive for years to come, and we’ll all be the beneficiaries.

Jesse Daniel is about to play a bunch of dates in Texas, then embark on a big West Coast tour including appearances with Hellbound Glory, a big set at the Jackalope Jamboree, and opening the shows will be the “Dean of the Honky Tonks,” Summer Dean. Daniel’s calling it the “My Kind of Country Tour.”

To get you randy for the upcoming tour dates, Jesse Daniel has also released a studio version of a song some have probably seen him play live, “Just Because You Asked Me To” (listen below), which is the one song from Waylon’s iconic album Honky Tonk Heroes he co-wrote with Billy Joe Shaver.

Though folks paying close attention to Daniel have already known that his heart, his harmony, and his right hand woman is his partner Jodi Lyford, this version of “Just Because You Asked Me To” gives Lyford an opportunity for some deserved time in the spotlight too.

“Everyone has a ‘song’… A tune that brings them back to the time they met a significant other and fell in love that stays with them through the years,” Jesse Daniel says. “People play these songs at weddings, on anniversaries and to even rekindle that old feeling of long after the fire is gone. Love songs bring out such pure human emotion in us and that’s what makes this song special for Jodi and I. It was one that we just had to record at some point and I’m glad we did.”

Tickets for the tour are on sale now, and some of these dates will sell out, so be on your toes.
