Jesse Daniel’s Taking New “Workin’ Hard” Song on the Road

Traditional country artist Jesse Daniel has a big 2024 ahead of him, and it’s due to all the hard work he’s put in over the last few years atoning for some of his past trespasses during his wayward youth, and using country music to rehabilitate and set himself on the straight and narrow. There’s no rest for the weary though. He’s just announced a mess of new tour dates, and has just revealed a taste of new music.

Many have taken a shining to Jesse Daniel due to his work ethic and real word honesty, and one of these fans is comedian Dusty Slay. He’s getting ready to release a Netflix comedy special on January 16th, and a new Jesse Daniel song called “Workin’ Hard (Day and Night)” serves as the soundtrack.

“Dusty is a workin’ man’s comic (hence the name of his special) so Jodi [Lyford] and I started writing without hesitation,” Daniel says. “We incorporated some things that were directly inspired by Dusty and his life, while pulling from our own experience. Dusty makes comedy for everyday, workin’ people and those are the same people I make country music for. I’m honored to have my song on his first Netflix special.”

Originally from the Santa Cruz area in California, you can tell Jesse Daniel took direct inspiration from folks like Merle Haggard and the pickin’ of Don Rich to make “Workin’ Hard” come to life.

Though nothing’s been formally announced just yet, it is interesting to note that the new Jesse Daniel song comes from Lightning Rod Records, which is a subsidiary of New West. It looks like Jesse’s hard work is paying off, with perhaps a new album on the way at some point in 2024 too.

Meanwhile, to sing it you first have to live it. So Jesse Daniel will be out on the road working hard and hitting honky tonks to play for real men and women throughout 2024. You can find a slew of new dates below on what he’s calling the “Countin’ The Miles Tour.” Brit Taylor and Alex Williams open select dates.
