Marty Stuart & The Steve Miller Band Announce Dual Tour

Reprising a touring concept that was first dreamed up in 2019 that seemed a little offbeat but worked very well according to attendees, Marty Stuart and His Fabulous Superlatives will be joining The Steve Miller Band out on tour in 2020. Comedian and musician Gary Mule Deer will also play a supporting role on the tour starting in Texas in June. Brian Wilson and Taj Mahal will also be special guests on certain dates, and songwriter/guitarist Matthew Curry will fill in at a few shows as well. See full itinerary below.

“Touring with Marty and the Superlatives is inspirational,” says Steve Miller. “This is undoubtedly one of the most talented touring combinations I’ve ever been involved in. We look forward to continuing working together to explore the roots of American Music. Adding the musical comedy of Gary Mule Deer to the show will be an unexpected treat for our fans. I’m delighted to be able to tour with these great artists and to bring the Steve Miller Band audience the best of the best.”

Marty Stuart has been busy of recent, re-releasing his magnum opus album The Pilgrim, which enjoyed its 20th Anniversary in 2019. Stuart also recently released a new companion book for the record, with numerous photos as well as written material chronicling the making of the album as well as other moments from his career, and other images from his archive as a photographer. It also includes a CD of the original record with bonus material.

“Touring with the Steve Miller Band has proved to be magical,” says Marty Stuart. “It is indeed an honor to go across the nation with Steve and the Steve Miller Band.”

The “Americana Tour” will include 40 total dates from June through September. Pay attention to the key below the dates, because lineups vary for many shows.
