Newest Additions to Saving Country Music’s Top 25 Current Playlist (#12)

As we near the end of the year, it’s time to start thinking about the Song of the Year and Album of the Year candidates, and to start sifting back thought this year’s playlists and reviews to see what resonated the most, and what we might have missed. But there are still new songs and new albums being released as well, and Saving Country Music ‘s Top 25 Playlist has been updated accordingly.

Though new releases begin to significantly slow down this time of year, Chris Stapleton‘s From A Room: Vol. 2 is a noteworthy December album, and the song “Scarecrow In The Garden” has just been added to the playlist ahead of the album’s release on December 1st. It’s also time to start looking ahead to the big releases coming in 2018, and First Aid Kit‘s “Postcards” might be one of the most patently country songs the sister duo from Sweden has ever released. Kristina Murray should be on everyone’s radar for upcoming traditional country releases, and her lead single “How Tall The Glass” also makes the playlist.

Though it’s a cover song, The Salty Dogs really impress with their version of “The Christian Life” that sounds like it could have been cut by a young Dwight Yoakam. And finally to give the playlist a little bit of bluegrass kick, North Carolina’s Eric Strickland shows up with the reminiscent “Black and White.”

The Saving Country Music Top 25 Playlist primarily lives on Spotify, but is also available for those who use Google Play. For those who use neither, you can still find the song recommendations in list form below.
