Loretta Lynn in Nashville Hospital After Suffering Stroke
Country music legend Loretta Lynn is expected to make a full recovery, but fans of the 85-year-old Country Music Hall of Famer are worried after news broke early Friday evening (5-5) that she had suffered a stroke in her Hurricane Mills home, and is in the hospital in Nashville.
“She is currently under medical care and is responsive and expected to make a full recovery,” reads a statement from the Loretta Lynn camp, and is confirmed by Director of Media Relations at Legacy Recordings/Sony Music, Maria Malta. “Loretta, who just celebrated her 85th birthday, has been advised by her doctors to stay off the road while she is recuperating. Regrettably, upcoming scheduled shows will be postponed.”
Loretta’s shows in Durham, North Carolina on Friday (5-5) at the Carolina Theatre, and North Myrtle Beach on Saturday (5-6) at the Alabama Theater have both been cancelled. At the moment, a scheduled show at Penn’s Peak in Pennsylvania on May 12th is still on.
Loretta celebrated her 85th birthday on April 14th, and recently announced a new 13-song album called Wouldn’t It Be Great would be released via Sony’s Legacy Recordings on August 18th. It was recorded primarily at the Cash Cabin Studios in Hendersonville, TN, with producer (and Lynn’s daughter) Patsy Lynn Russell, and caretaker of the Cash Cabin Studios, John Carter Cash.
Loretta Lynn’s previous album Full Circle received a Grammy nomination, and on August 25th the Country Music Hall of Fame will unveil a special Loretta Lynn exhibit to help commemorate the museum’s 50th Anniversary.

She’s in the Hall of Fame since 1988, no one else (still alive) was there before.
After her we still have Willie, who was inducted in 1993.
I really hope for a full, speedy recovery, she means everything to country music.

85 years old she needs to retire and enjoy what time she has left shes been beating the road hard for about 60 years time to relax,,,,, But I strongly suspect she wants to keep her road crew and her family in jobs and money as long ass she can that’s why there are a lot of veteran artists still hammering out the tour circuit because they have to not want to.

I’m praying real hard for Loretta,to be well and to be back out there soon singing and using the talent God gave her.
And,while I do want Loretta to rest,,I DON’T want her to retire,I don’t care how old she is.God gave her a beautiful voice, and when God gives us a talent, not matter what that talent is,he expects us to use it.Yes,God expects us to take care of ourselves,I understand that. But,this is only my opinion,I believe God can work it out where Loretta can rest, take care of herself, yet still be out on the road using her lovely voice at the same time.It can be done,I really believe this, with the proper planning.
Also, with the family losses over the years Loretta has suffered,Loretta being on the road, recording in the studio, etc, has helped her take her mind off of her pain, and put her mind on the words to her songs, etc. There’s a verse in the bible that says “With The temptation God will make a way of escape”.There is not a doubt in my mind that Loretta’s touring, recording in the studio, singing, etc,is God’s way of escape for Loretta. And God has used Loretta’s music to keep her around.I truly believe this.
So,speaking for myself,I don’t want Loretta to retire.
Yes,I do want her to rest, though. As I said earlier,it can still work out where Loretta can still rest, yet still perform, with God’s help.I truly believe this. With the proper planning.
Loretta will forever be my no 1 favorite singer

And to Chip Speake, who posted on the Saving Country Muisc facebook page,I don’t want her to step away from all of this. And she DOES NOT have to step away from all of this. She can still sing and speak.
Someone @ Loretta’s Ranch told me over the phone this small stroke has NOT affected her speech.Loretta can still talk.
