Chris Stapleton to Release New Albums “From A Room: Volume #1” and “Volume #2”
This story has been updated.
Finally, there is some information about Chris Stapleton’s upcoming album, or albums.
Stapleton’s From A Room: Volume #1 will be released on May 5th, and a second installment, From A Room: Volume #2, will be released later in 2017. This is the news coming out of a mostly private album release party conducted Wednesday evening (4-5) at Nashville’s Studio ‘A’ operated by Chris Stapleton producer Dave Cobb, and where the two records were recorded live with Stapleton’s band.
“I’m real proud of this record,” Stapleton said to the crowd according to The Tennessean. “We made it right here in (RCA Studio A) like the last one. We camped out in here … and had a lot of fun recording things.”
From A Room: Volume #1 will include nine tracks, of which eight were co-written by Stapleton. Some were co-written with Mike Henderson—a SteelDrivers alumnus like Stapleton. “Either Way” was originally cut by Lee Ann Womack on her 2008 album Call Me Crazy. The album also includes a cover of the song “Last Thing I Needed, First Thing This Morning” recorded by Willie Nelson, and written by Gary P. Nunn and Donna Sioux Farar.
“So pleased and honored to attend Chris Stapleton’s new album release party in Nashville tonight,” Gary P. Nunn posted on social media Wednesday evening. “Chris did a extremely soulful performance on the cut. I couldn’t be more proud.”
The ‘A’ in From A Room is emphasized because the album was recorded in Studio ‘A’. The album features Dave Cobb on acoustic guitar, Morgane Stapleton on harmony vocals, J.T. Cure on bass, Derek Mixon on drums, Mickey Raphael on harmonica, Robby Turner on pedal steel, and Mike Webb on keys.
UPDATE: At midnight Wednesday night/Thursday morning, the album populated as a pre-order on iTunes. Also, Pre-order bundles were made available Thursday (4-6).

It was first revealed on February 16th that Chris Stapleton’s sophomore solo record would be released on May 5th, but it wasn’t accompanied or proceed by any details such as the title, or the track list. Many thought we might hear more details about the record, or see a single release around Stapleton’s performance on the ACM Awards Sunday, April 2nd, where he performed “Second To Know,” but nothing came. Even after the album release party, nothing official has been announced by Mercury Nashville or the Chris Stapleton camp about the albums, and no single has been released. Expect that to change shortly.

9 songs only? Seems like a cash grab to separate into 2 albums.
April 6, 2017 @ 4:49 am
Wish You Were Here is 5 cuts and one of the best albums of all time.
April 6, 2017 @ 7:50 am
Foo Fighters Sonic Highways is only 8 songs and I love that disc. The HBO show is also amazing.
April 6, 2017 @ 8:02 am
Those were pretty long songs, too — like 5 to 13 minutes or so — so you still got over 40 minutes of music. 🙂
Some other good comparisons might be Ashley Monroe’s ‘Like a Rose’, and Sturgill’s ‘Sailor’s Guide to Earth’ (also 9 tracks each); I would consider both “all killer, no filler,” and hope Stapleton’s release will turn out to be as well.
April 6, 2017 @ 8:04 am
My point was don’t judge an album by its cover…..
April 6, 2017 @ 8:09 am
Close To The Edge is only 3 songs. I’ll take that one over Wish You Were Here. Pure personal preference. Wish You Were Here is certainly a great album. Particularly, Shine On You Crazy Diamond. Love that sad, bluesy guitar solo by Gilmour.
April 6, 2017 @ 8:19 am
Was never huge Yes fan but mad respect for that disc. Again, I was just throwing out an example that number of songs means nothing to how good an album can be.
But Shine On 6-9 is straight dope. Gilmore is a master tele and black strat player. Big Sturgill influence too. I’d love to see Sturgill continue to mix in psychedelic rock sound (which already has last two albums).
April 6, 2017 @ 8:47 am
Yeah, I Know. Just feeling chatty.
Yes had a great three album run with T Yes Album, Fragile and Close to the Edge. I had a few more of their LPs, but those are the only three I felt the need to replace on CD. The Fragile CD has their ten minute cover of Simon and Garfunkel’s “America,” which is a lot of fun. I had it on another LP called Yesterdays.
I was (still am) a big fan of Gimour’s first solo album, too. “There’s No Way Out of Here” got a good amount of airplay on NYC rock radio in ’78.
April 5, 2017 @ 9:31 pm
“Either Way” has to be the same song Stapleton co-wrote for Lee Ann Womack’s 2008 album Call Me Crazy. Womack vocals are off the chart on her version (which is my favorite track from CMC). It will be interesting to see how the two compare.
So 9 tracks, 2 covers. Vol. 1 will feel light.
April 5, 2017 @ 9:32 pm
I looked on the song credits on CMC, it’s the same 3 writers – same song.
April 5, 2017 @ 9:50 pm
Just listened to Lee Ann Womack’s version. Stapleton is singing harmony on it. I think you’re right.
April 5, 2017 @ 9:59 pm
I never thought about who was singing harmony on the track and I listened to that song a hundred times!
It’s kind of a feminine song, isn’t it? Maybe I’m just used to hearing it that way.
April 5, 2017 @ 10:08 pm
It’s not really feminine, just a heartbreak song.
April 6, 2017 @ 2:04 pm
Ive been saying since Traveller his material has a Lilith Fair quality to it and better off sung my women.
April 5, 2017 @ 10:07 pm
Good eye.
April 6, 2017 @ 7:45 am
According to HDD this is also the first single. I like the song, but I hate this decision. Two years of no new music, and the lead is a (pseudo) cover? Plus on general principle I’m boycotting any more slow songs at county radio. Good God, for the love of tempo.
April 6, 2017 @ 8:09 am
This is the reason I hate covers, people will start comparing them
April 6, 2017 @ 2:03 pm
Put some drive in yer country!
April 6, 2017 @ 6:39 pm
I’m not a fan of the career songwriter getting his/her break then re-recording all the songs he wrote for other artists (except for the Lori McKennas of the world whom have very limited audiences). I took issue with Whiskey & You on Traveller. Trig pointed out at the time Willie, Waylon, and Merle and Jr. all recorded the same songs in the 70s – and they did. But, I don’t like it.
April 7, 2017 @ 2:18 am
If I can recall, Michael Bolton wrote or co-wrote ‘How Am I Supposed To Live Without You”. Laura Branigan sang it initially in the early 80’s and Michael Bolton re-read it in the late 80’s. That’s the only other time I can remember that happening until now. If it’s happened since, I couldn’t tell you by who. I’m certainly intrigued to listen to C Stapleton’s version.
April 5, 2017 @ 9:43 pm
This is the first time I’ve seen an album (or two in this case) announced AT an actual album release party, but hey, I’m going to keep an open mind. I’m guessing just some of the press were invited and told to keep it a secret? Who knows. Two albums from Chris is good news to me though.
April 5, 2017 @ 10:07 pm
If Cindy Watts of The Tennessean was told to keep it quiet, she didn’t do a very good job of it. My guess is if media was invited, they had to know this stuff would leak out. Basically this is one reporter’s account being regurgitated by other media outlets. We don’t have an official press release, or confirmed details. Frankly it’s garbage reporting, and is a disservice to the importance of the announcement and to the public, but it’s what you encourage when you reveal details this way. As a media member, you’re forced to report the news as it is, because all of your competitors are going to pick up on it. 11:30 at night on a Wednesday is not the best time to belatedly reveal your album info. But at least we’ve got something to work with now.
I expect a proper press release tomorrow. And, perhaps, a pre-order link. Maybe. And maybe a single. But probably not.
April 5, 2017 @ 10:13 pm
Oh, I agree completely. This is the opposite of everything I would do as a publicist. And I thought the same thing about the Wednesday night at 10 pm article. I’m just really trying to make sense of how they released this and I can’t. But I’m pulling for Chris so I’m trying. I cannot believe his publicity team agreed to any of this but maybe they didn’t really have a choice.
April 5, 2017 @ 9:55 pm
I wouldn’t take the number of tracks as gospel til we see official info. That said, count me in for a trend back to fewer songs on albums. I’d be thrilled with 9 or 10 no filler- all killers. And psyched he’s doing Either Way. Incredible song.
Also I read the supposed ‘Vol 1 & 2’ as someone talking Chris or Cobb out of a double album (we all lived thru Guitar Song)….
April 5, 2017 @ 11:19 pm
” I’d be thrilled with 9 or 10 no filler- all killers”
yes , yes and yes , Dane ……couldn’t agree more . I whittled Miranda’s last double record down to about 10 songs which make a superb single CD
April 7, 2017 @ 10:47 am
Just curious which 10 songs you picked?
April 5, 2017 @ 9:56 pm
Seems like about half the time some performer announces two albums in one year the second one never comes about. Remember Garth and his Machine part 2? Wonder what the thinking is here going with two releases.
April 6, 2017 @ 9:18 am
Good point. What happened with those Garth songs? Talk about a botched roll out and no radio strategy, this is exactly what happened to Garth. I didn’t think “Man Against Machine” was great, but it was the new record from one of the best-selling artists of all time. RCA couldn’t get out of its own way with that release. It eventually sold decently, but in spite of RCA, not because of it. That’s why I’m always on edge when it comes to these important releases.
Perhaps Stapleton wanted a double record, and Mercury Nashville balked. Major labels hate double records. So they decided to split it up.
I still want to process this more, but I’m still searching for the plan or strategy behind this new Chris Stapleton release, or releases. Right now I’m only seeing more evidence they’re scrambling as opposed to rallying to get this thing right.
April 6, 2017 @ 2:07 pm
This two album thing is kinda funny eh considering JJ coming out with a double after That Lonesome… not the same I know but they really must be tinkerin with same formula
April 7, 2017 @ 7:28 am
I think some of the most susseful albums released lately have been by artist who drop the album without any label support or pre-street date hype … Beyoncé, Radiohead, Eric Church. I think artists are recognizing labels can’t get out of their own way.
April 7, 2017 @ 7:51 am
There is a difference with doing a surprise album drop as a strategy to create buzz, and dropping the ball because an artist is a low priority.
The Beyonce album is the exception, but except for that I’ve been reading one story after another about how the surprise album drop is dead, and a bad idea. Eric Church’s “The Outsiders” sold 1.2 million copies. “Mr. Misunderstood” has sold just over 500,000. Frank Ocean’s “Blond” is the album I’ve seen cited in these articles the most as being the nail in the coffin of the surprise album release. Basically, it doesn’t work. But then again, at least that’s a strategy.
I’ve been saying from the very beginning that Chris Stapleton will still be fine. The question is if everything was done correctly to ensure the album has a successful roll out? If a song was not available for streaming or download, and the album not available for pre-order when he performed on the ACM’s, there is no logic that will ever convince me that was a good idea. Plain and simple, it was laziness, or unpreparedness. When Gary P. Nunn is the one basically dropping your album in a Facebook comment, that is not a strategy. I hope for the best with the album. It will be fine. But the idea that their strategy is to be light with the roll out is nothing more than a convenient excuse. I hope they rally to make it right.
April 5, 2017 @ 10:25 pm
Gimme a beat……(ahem)..
So we’re gettin 9 tracks, with more cuts to come.
We went a while with nothin, so it’s good to have some.
I’d much rather have this than any bro-country scum
Who wears skinny jeans to accentuate his bum.
Real outlaws can’t wear that shit, cuz there’s no place for a gun
And also on a man, they show your bulge to everyone.
But the writers and deciders think that that’s where we should be.
Well this Stapleton and Cobb shit sounds much better to me.
So I’ll take 9 tracks, or 5, or 4, or even 1.
Cuz it’s better than deciding between Sam Hunt tracks or none.
So when this joint comes out I’m gonna sit down with my honey
And get our Staple on, now SHUT UP AND TAKE MY MONEY!
So thank you Chris and Cobb, and especially Trigger, who
When he’s done with saving country, maybe he’ll save……..rap……….too.
Fun tip: Don’t drink that Devil’s Cut bourbon and watch rap battles on Youtube. You’ll just embarass yourself.
April 5, 2017 @ 10:56 pm
as someone who’s done some eminem at karaoke when he’s had a couple whiskeys i very much enjoyed this
April 6, 2017 @ 6:37 am
Word to your mother.
April 6, 2017 @ 4:57 pm
Better than Sam Hunt.
April 5, 2017 @ 10:32 pm
I thought he won his Grammy’s with producer Vance Powell.
April 5, 2017 @ 11:03 pm
Vance Powell was the engineer and mixer, not the producer. But that will still earn you a Grammy for an album award. It won’t for a songwriter award.
April 5, 2017 @ 10:54 pm
if we’re talking singles i’d love if they released either way just because it’s one of my favorite lee ann womack songs
April 5, 2017 @ 10:56 pm
Just updated the story. It appears at midnight a pre-order finally populated on iTunes, and was able to confirm the track list.
https://itunes.apple.com/us/album/from-a-room-volume-1/id1222152230
April 6, 2017 @ 3:42 am
And of course it’s down already. No idea what Mercury’s up to.
April 6, 2017 @ 9:20 am
I’m still seeing it up.
There is some merch bundles as well now:
http://chrisstapleton.shop.redstarmerch.com/page/FromARoom
April 7, 2017 @ 7:12 am
I noticed there is no single with the pre-order, however you are able to sample every song. Just from the samples it seems this album is more country and less blues/southern rock sounding than the last album. Could be a good one.
April 6, 2017 @ 12:54 am
Not sure if it’s been mentioned but, you can preview the whole album on iTunes and Google Play.
April 6, 2017 @ 12:54 am
Forgive my late night ranting, but these 9 songs all sound pretty damned incredible on first listen. Ain’t nobody body gonna accuse this man of not staying pure dee country or doing a bizarre left turn. I love that Either Way is just him & the acoustic. Morgane harmonies are perfection on the Willie / Gary Nunn cover & im glad he stays true to the tempo. Assuming Broken Halo will be sent to radio. None of these are obvious radio songs, but then again neither were Traveller. I’m glad that radio still has to come to him. Second One To Know def tips the hat to Billy Gibbons. Up To No Good is country pedal steel perfection. I Was Wrong & Death Row- aw hell, this boy can just WAIL the Blues. Whoa. Them Stems (this morning I smoked them stems/ that’s the kinda shape I’m in) makes me wanna pull up my NRPS & Commander Cody songs. I am loving this. All lean n mean in a tight 32 minutes. Yes sir.
April 6, 2017 @ 3:16 am
A welcome development, but still a puzzling strategy. Perhaps the Stapleton camp just wants to do it all on their own terms.
Having listened to the iTunes preview, I can’t wait to hear it all in full. My initial feeling is that it is a little too mid-tempo, and it would’ve been great to have ‘Hard Living’ included on there to pick it up a bit. Definitely no obvious radio songs. This is not necessarily a bad thing, but it was pretty incredible to hear a stadium full of people singing along to ‘Fire Away’ and ‘Parachute’ for example.
Can’t wait for May 5th. And whenever the second album will be released.
April 6, 2017 @ 11:18 am
I also was really bummed to see “Hard Livin’ not included on Vol. 1 but there’s hope maybe he’ll catch wind of everyone being bummed about it and put it on Vol. 2? Saw him in Austin last year with Hank Jr and he sang it. Tons of people were loving it. However I’m also so excited after listening to the iTunes previews, Love them all but that “Last Thing I Needed, First Thing This Morning” cover is off the charts stunning
April 6, 2017 @ 11:42 am
Me too, I love the guitar to Hard Livin’
April 6, 2017 @ 4:05 am
“Up to No Good Living” was written by Chris Stapleton and Casey Beathard, I think.
April 6, 2017 @ 4:58 am
Agree with earlier comment that record labels generally don’t like double and triple albums. They feel the price point will be an issue and harder to promote..Look at the chart and sales performance of Weight of These Wings by Miranda. It sounds like they’ve broken this off into two separate albums. If Vol 2 will get postponed to a future quarter where Mercury perceives a revenue issue to plug the financials so it will really push out whatever his next record after this double set to 2019 or 2020 probably.
Cardinal rule: never give a record label more music than they know what to do with.
Exhibit A: Love is Hell by Ryan Adams
April 6, 2017 @ 7:18 am
I could not agree more; splitting a release rarely benefits the artist. Hell, I think it’s just plain bad luck to release a volume 1 under the presumption that a volume 2+ will be inevitable (Van Halen Greatest Hits Volume 1, for example). As much as I dig Chris Stapleton, I’m afraid Mercury Nashville won’t pull this off as planned.
April 6, 2017 @ 9:29 am
There is a reason there is a script, and a well-ordered way that music is released. It’s because it works. Perhaps for some artists they can break away from the traditional album release model because their fickle fan bases stream the single on Spotify, but Chris Stapleton is an album artist. His fans buy albums. Physical copies, digital downloads, and then they stream it on Spotify. Splitting the release, doing a double album, or whatever tests fate on many levels.
This may not be all Mercury Nashville’s fault. The poor roll out probably is, but I’m sure Stapleton delivered them a double album wanting to make a big splash or get extra material out there, and Mercury is trying to figure out how best to handle that.
There’s a reason Jamey Johnson’s double album “The Guitar Song” was his last album of original material on a major label. His label was Mercury Nashville by the way.
April 6, 2017 @ 2:37 pm
Does that strategy really work anymore? In the age of declining music revenues etc?
April 6, 2017 @ 4:10 pm
I think the label formula is a 10 track album that has 4 obvious hitmaker produced top 40 singles and 35 total minutes of music. Go beyond that and the majors generally seem to freak out.
April 6, 2017 @ 5:40 pm
I know it’s easy to blame everything on labels. But you may be letting your bias affect your writing. With all due respect, your stereotypes are stuck. To think that labels dictate all major decisions to artists & managers is, at best, naive. Artists have strong voices in their careers (as they should). The consolidation of management companies have made them very powerful. Labels can no longer just ‘force’ creative decisions, particularly for popular and/or established artists.
You pointed to Garth. But it was wrong. It is well-known that RCA wanted a more traditional single to begin. Garth insisted & persisted the first 2 single choices. Eric Church advocated strongly for his surprise rollout. Jamey Johnson demanded he release a double album, perform Macon on tv as the first look, & then release My Way To You. Mercury lobbied for a single disc with Playing The Part as the first track. By the way, it was not his last Mercury album. They tried to get a 3rd Mercury album, but he was the not interested in the Cochran tribute (which they released). Certainly labels make plenty of mistakes. My point is, in this day & age, it’s truly a team effort in the majority of cases. There will always be blame, but the day of dictatorship is long gone. You think Borchetta wanted TBP to deliver pop albums
Your assumption of artist set up & album rollout is also limited to only the established model. Certainly for radio-dependent artists, many who are in country, the early single set up remains the norm. But more & more, adventurous & established artists are shaking up their rollout. Eric Church is a perfect example. Misunderstood dropped out of the sky and later went for radio. Miranda’s press & tv appearance strategy should be cited. But it didn’t work for George Strait, a superstar, but still dependent on radio & long lead & little to no streaming. Other genres have long done custom set ups, based on their metrics. Country is slowly realizing, as streaming numbers grow, it can apply to them (based on the artist).
You may very well be right on Stapleton & MCA. I have another viewpoint. This release is far too important to Uni & Chris not to overthink rollout to death. Chris was the most successful ‘new’ artist last year. The bonus for the industry is that he’s also an Album & Tour Artist. It isn’t about just digital tracks (it’s the bonus). But this is still just his ‘second’ album, and following one that became huge took well over a year with little to no early or sustained help at radio.
There are no obvious radio singles here. If anything (thankfully) he goes deeper into real country & blues wailing. The worst thing in the world is to follow the traditional route. Release a single that sputters to gain traction for months. That hissing you hear is excitement going out of the tires. Then what? They blow the roof off with pre-release ads that tout him as Superstar Artist Of The Year?? Bye Bye fan cred.
No. Doesn’t work.
This release plan is the Short Lead. Church & Beyonce (ur fave) were Blitzkriegs. With a short lead, you go fast but strong, hitting the core. Chris has a short 4-week lead, kicked it off with 40 sold out date onsales, then ACMs. then release art & pre-order & sample audio. Now you have people buzzing that it’s REAL country & writing about it (cue Kyle & commenters, etc). This intensity activates the core buyer who bought last album within 4-6 months (pre Tennessee Whiskey). Then his tour kicks off in Atlanta on day of release & goes. Let’s see the media hits that they do in the next 3 weeks. I bet it’ll be strategic press & tv hits. It won’t be the traditional early glut. I bet they wait on a radio blitz til after all the initial sales come in. Let’s be clear, he will have a big first week. But he still has to prove himself as a long haul. The traditional model won’t do that.
Or, I could be a fucking idiot. Won’t be the first time.
April 6, 2017 @ 7:53 pm
wow
April 6, 2017 @ 11:36 pm
Dane,
I think you’re mischaracterizing my comments somewhat. You’re responding to a specific comment where I say, and I quote:
“This may not be all Mercury Nashville’s fault. The poor roll out probably is, but I’m sure Stapleton delivered them a double album wanting to make a big splash or get extra material out there, and Mercury is trying to figure out how best to handle that. “
…with a comment that starts:
“I know it’s easy to blame everything on labels.”
Honestly, the fact that this new Stapleton album is basically a double album I think softens my opinions on how Mercury Nashville has handled this release so far, and probably does put a little more burden on Stapleton or his camp.
Nonetheless, nobody will ever be able to convince me that it was a good idea NOT to have the single Chris Stapleton performed on the ACM Awards up for sale. Nobody will convince me that this roll out has been handled well, especially now that the announcement basically got leaked out by Gary P. Nunn of all people, and later The Tennessean. That said, I want this release to be successful. I hope Mercury Nashville works their tails off for the next 20-something days. That’s the whole reason I offered my criticism and concern, not to slag them, but hopefully to light a fire under their ass. Someone told me my original article about Mercury Nashville bungling this release was hung up in their offices. Good. Let it be bulletin board material (as they say in sports) to prove me wrong. Ultimately, it’s about the music. I criticize and show concern because I care. This is an important release for country music.
April 6, 2017 @ 5:49 am
This was a beautiful thing to read at 3:30 in the morning! Thanks Trig!
April 6, 2017 @ 6:12 am
Just sampled the album on iTunes. Most of the songs are very good, sounds like a little more steel guitar than Traveler. “I Was Wrong”, “Without Your Love”, and “Death Row” sound a little John Mayery. Otherwise, a lot of good country.
April 6, 2017 @ 6:20 am
Just pre ordered the album on iTunes. Hopefully he releases a song from it soon

Pre order link from his Facebook page
April 6, 2017 @ 6:52 am
‘Last Thing I Needed The First Thing This Morning’ has always struck me as ‘Things Have Gone To Pieces 2.0’ Wonderfully lonesome. I’m a fan of him deciding to cut this.
April 6, 2017 @ 7:59 am
I couldn’t help myself and I listened to all the previews on iTunes. Damn! I think I’m going to like this one even more than Traveller.
April 6, 2017 @ 8:13 am
I love this dude playing country, but a straight blues album with Mickey Raphael on harmonica would be absolutely killer especially based on what I hear from the preview of death row
April 6, 2017 @ 8:19 am
Here’s hoping that “Tipsy” makes it on Volume Two. The Stapletons sound great doing it live
April 6, 2017 @ 9:18 am
I’m not seeing any option to preview on iTunes.
April 6, 2017 @ 10:53 am
Just hit “preview all” at the bottom (right below the last song)
April 6, 2017 @ 11:05 am
No “preview all” option there.
April 6, 2017 @ 9:26 am
Just listened to both LeeAnn and Chris’ versions of Either Way. Damn good country music. I hope radio plays it.
April 6, 2017 @ 11:27 am
I hope he realeses it on vinyl!!!
April 6, 2017 @ 12:07 pm
It is! You can pre-order it on his site
April 6, 2017 @ 12:09 pm
I can’t help but to wonder what the Dwight Yoakam/Chris Stapleton written song sounds like and I really hope it’ll be on Vol. 2. I would hope it’s a duet between the two if ever recorded
April 6, 2017 @ 1:10 pm
Just pre-ordered the t-shirt bundle, cool. Thanks for the info guys. I’m still not seeing much press but hopefully that will change.
April 6, 2017 @ 1:21 pm
Actually, Spin, Rolling Stone, Wide Open Country, etc, etc have all announced it. Good deal.
April 6, 2017 @ 1:31 pm
Either Way is a fantastic song. Loved Lee Ann’s version on Call Me Crazy, and Chris’s version is pretty great as well.
April 6, 2017 @ 1:55 pm
Curious about the Gary P cover. Best thing on the other album was the Charlie D one.
April 6, 2017 @ 2:00 pm
Just listened to the samples. The guy aint a country singer and this aint a country record though he is talented. Its pop-rock/adult contemp. Will be passing on this one.
April 6, 2017 @ 2:22 pm
Last Thing I needed, First thing this morning… I think I’m in love. Can’t wait for this album. I think the 2 volumes is pretty genius as well. They’re not making the same mistake as they did with Miranda’s album where it just became monotonous.
April 6, 2017 @ 2:48 pm
This album is obviously going to be terrible. Not a single song on it is written by Shane McAnally, Josh Osborne or Dallas Davidson!
April 7, 2017 @ 5:19 pm
Well, I’m late to the party again…
ITunes has all the songs available to preview for some reason, and I’m not really impressed with what I hear so far. They all sound like “Traveller” rejects. Not to mention I rolled my eyes when I realized Lee Ann Womack already recorded “Either Way” nine years ago. Stapleton is obviously very talented and an asset to country music, but if he keeps releasing the same sounding stuff over and over he’s going to get old really fast.
