Ricky Skaggs, Dailey & Vincent to Perform on Grand Ole Opry
The Grand Ole Opry tradition continues now for the sixth week in a row during the Coronavirus outbreak, as 15-time Grammy winner and Opry member since 1982 Ricky Skaggs will take the stage, along with one of the institution’s more recent members, bluegrass duo Dailey & Vincent who were inducted in early 2017.
“Sure is gonna be great to be hosting the Grand Ole Opry this Saturday night,” says Skaggs. “I’ve really missed doing the show. It will certainly make me feel like things are somewhat getting back to normal. Hope you all enjoy my great co-hosts Daily & Vincent. It’s gonna be a really fun show.”
Saturday, April 18th will mark the 4,920th consecutive Saturday night broadcast in the Grand Ole Opry’s nearly 95-year-old history. The show has received special exception to the city’s shelter in place orders for everything but essential business from Nashville Mayor John Cooper. No crowd is present for the shows, and there’s no backing band. Only essential sound and camera personnel, and a host from radio station WSM, and Bobby Bones for the live video feed on television and online.
These artist-only, acoustic performances have held a special weight since they started, with Vince Gill, Brad Paisley, Marty Stuart, Ashley McBryde, Terri Clark, Lauren Alaina, Trace Adkins, T. Graham Brown, and others taking the stage during performances that are sure to go down in the history books due to the unusual circumstances.
Fans can watch live via the embedded player below, on the new Circle Network via local affiliates of the expanding channel (check availability), or on the Circle Network’s Facebook Page, or on The Circle Network’s YouTube page, or listen via WSM. The presentation begins at 7 p.m. Central.

Hey Folks,
I am very happy to say that we have (mostly) solved the problem with the “like” feature on comments. We still have a bit more tweaking to do, but we believe it’s finally returned to proper functionality, AND all the old likes on older comments have been preserved (the biggest hurdle we had to face)! We’re continuing to try and make the buttons a little smaller and you may see some other bugs. If so, feel free to pipe up. But overall, it should be working properly again. We’ve also added the ability for you to “like” an article at the bottom of each post, so feel free to leave your feedback there as well.

Can you remove the splash message that says “thanks, you liked this”? It seems somewhat condescending.
Its as bad as the alarm on my phone that ranks my performance in getting out of bed in the morning.
It annoys me but I’ll tolerate it until it ranks my perfomance in bed at night.

It just gave me the middle finger when I pressed it.

What difference do the likes actually make?
Are they anything more than an ego booster?

Well, I know know. But with all the angry emails and comments I received when they went away, I went through EXTREME pain to bring them back.

They matter Trig, you know it and I know it! Thank you for fixing em, ask a psychologist why but they matter. I’m glad they’re back! Now if we could get live music back, the world would be a better place!

Ricky is such a class act, had the pleasure of meeting him a couple years ago and he is such an inspiration. Should be a great show!

The Dailey & Vincent show with the Malpass Brothers and their tribute to Merle this week was great.
Looking forward to the show.

Yeah I agree that episode with Malpass Brothers was GREAT. That bass singer Aaron McCune has quite the voice I might add. Dailey and Vincent are bringing back the quartet format like the Statlers and Oak Ridge Boys . Love what their doing.

This is the best show thus far, and it hasn’t happened yet.

Wow, pretty much a full bluegrass band tonight. They even have a drum set up on stage. Will definitely be a fuller sound from previous nights.
Bobby Bones is dressed like my 5-year-old nephew.

I listen on WSM; I don’t have cable. But I imagine that piece of hipster trash, Bones, must look so out of place. Why does scum like him get a seat at the table? Why?

Vincent’s laugh though! He probably blew out the sound man’s ear drums!

The first time I laughed out loud! I went back to listen to what Ricky said to make him crack up so hard.
Overall, just an amazing set. As much as I’ve been hard in Sturgill Simpson lately, it was his bluegrass set that turned me back into bluegrass and last night was very fulfilling.

If your spirits can’t be lifted up by this performance, or you do not recognize genius when you hear it as we are in this performance, there is literally no hope for you.
And Trigger, Bones is 5 year’s old.

I’m sure it’s because they’ve spent years working together, and used to this acoustic type setup, but I think has been the most relaxed and comfortable performance so far. Good stuff!

way to solve the bobby bones on the opry problem: ray wylie hubbard as equal co-host with him; kind of like a modern day pinkard and bowden.

Can we maybe get this lineup again once the Opry has a live audience again? I’d make the trip from Ohio for that night. Two class acts!

Awesome show… got me a bit misty at times, because of their heartfelt thanks for those who are / can work, and for their true love of the music and friendship for each other…
